Democrats lead in the generic ballot is shrinking

We're under 5% and the latest Ipsos poll shows Republicans with a 1 point lead. We won't reclaim the House if those numbers hold up. The GOP have unlimited amounts of money and are very well organized. Student canvassers have supposedly have already rung 10-million doorbells for GOP candidates this year. i think we're seeing that effort reflected in the polling for the generic ballot. If you think a blue wave is inevitable, remember, so was Hillary. Support the Party, join with others, organize, work for your local candidates. We must not fail.

A House panel will decide next week whether to suspend Tacoma Rep. David Sawyer from his committee chairmanship after preliminary findings from an investigation into his conduct, House Democratic leaders said Friday evening.

The independent investigation into Sawyer's behavior is ongoing, but House leaders said in a news release the inquiry had "confirmed evidence supporting some allegations" against the Democrat, prompting them to take action.

In a February story by The News Tribune, The Olympian and public radio's Northwest News Network, eight women accused Sawyer of engaging in behavior before and after he joined the Legislature that ranged from inappropriate to harassing.

The allegations included persistent or suggestive electronic messaging, unwanted attention and comments with sexual overtones.

Washington-bound boat carrying invasive mussels stopped in Montana

Montana officials found invasive zebra mussels clinging to a boat headed toward Washington Friday.

The boat was stopped, and Washington officials were notified, said Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife Capt. Eric Anderson.

“We want to keep these things out of our waters,” Anderson said. “If they get in I hate to say it there is not a whole lot you can do once they get in other than hemorrhage money.”

...
the stop is an example of the defensive net Montana, Idaho, Oregon and Washington officials are erecting in hopes of keeping aquatic invasive species at bay. And, it highlights the precarious nature of the fight against aquatic invasive species.

Wyoming, Washington, Oregon and Idaho are the only states in the West still free of invasive quagga and zebra mussels, which can cause massive damage to waterways, fisheries, irrigation facilities and more.

Key Arena rebuild causes NHL fever

We’re going to take something, and we’re going to make it great again,” Leiweke said. “In the recycling capital of the world, one of the greenest cities, that only feels like the right thing to do.”

Answering questions alongside Leiweke Wednesday was billionaire investment banker David Bonderman — the team’s future majority owner — and Bonderman’s business partner, Hollywood film producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Joining them in the room were Tim Leiweke, Seahawks CEO Peter McLoughlin, Mariners majority owner John Stanton, Mariners president Kevin Mather, Sounders owner Adrian Hanauer and NBA Hall of Famer Lenny Wilkens, among others.

Certainly there are more recognizable figures in the Seattle sports scene, but short of Seahawks owner Paul Allen, the group was composed of the most influential.

The prospect of an NHL team is feeling more real every day, and based on the 10,000 tickets sold within 12 minutes of them becoming available, the excitement is booming, too. Especially when you consider that it took the Las Vegas Golden Knights — the NHL’s newest expansion team — six months to sell the same amount.
