Bad news: A patient had a psychotic break today and tried to trash the clinic.

It took me and two other guys to hold him down until the cops arrived. I got blood on my lab coat; it's mine, but I was worried that my patients for the rest of the day would freak out when they saw it.

Good news: The admins are finally starting to get serious about getting us some security. Only took them three years...

Just called my Congressman and both Senators. Urged them to oppose any move towards war with Iran.

I live in a Blue state, so I don't know if it was really necessary, but I don't know what else to do except dig my peace sign out of my closet and start looking around to see if Veterans For Peace will be demonstrating anywhere.

Just found out I lost one of my homeless patients over the New Year holiday.

Heart failure.

I hadn't seen her for a few months, but a member of my integrated-health team was at the hospice facility when she died. She had no family.

Hell of a way to start a new year in clinic.
