And his sons are cowards. All five of them.

All tall, strong, healthy, vigorous, and of age. Quite fit to serve in the military, especially with their dad pounding it home that he's running for the #1 patriot of America. You'd think that, for appearances sake ALONE, one of them - even just one of them would be the "sacrificial lamb" trade in the pinstripes and monogrammed shirts and go enlist and do the time in basic training and then show off in the slick-looking oh-so-photogenic and all-American uniform. Not ONE of them has. Nice red-white-&-blue family, 'eh?

Truly. It's not what our side does.

I'm sorry. I can't help but make the comparison. Our side chains ourselves to trees and gates of nuclear power plants and stuff. Our side goes on hunger strikes. Our side doesn't go all macho and para-military and "settle things" with guns & ammo. It's just not who we are.

We're not the ones always shoving our gun ownership and our "right to bear arms" in everyone else's faces. We're not the ones out there swaggering around with our six-guns and our holsters. We're not the ones talking openly and longingly, and yes - even ominously and threateningly, about "second amendment remedies." Shit like that comes from the CON side.

False equivalency absolutely! It's like comparing a brick to a grain of aquarium gravel and saying they're both alike. And you better believe some idiot pundit will try to make that comparison as they all do.

These guys are domestic terrorists. These guys need to be taken into custody for making threats against the President. They're manifestly dangerous and reckless as hell! What's to stop one of them in some macho lather from trying to prove how much more alpha-male he is than all the other Yosemite Sam wannabes?

These guys are a threat to society!

Le Roy I believe comes from le roi - the king. No wonder he's so arrogant!

One planet-size superiority complex that one has.

Touche.

How do you think those Georgia legislators got into those positions in the first place? Just who is it who watches Pox Noise and listens to limbaugh and falls for the short-attention-span, bumper-sticker, sound-bite, dog-whistle campaign blather and votes for short-sighted, selfish schmucks like this?

These representatives didn't just arise, magically, out of thin air. They weren't just designated by God, or Zeus, or whoever made the Mayan Calendar, or whatever.

Hey, works for me! Sore Loserman rises again!

Why don't you go tell it to your next wife, newty? We all know your pattern by now. Don't you have another backstage girl waiting in the wings to be your new First Lady someday?

Fucker. I hope he takes the whole party down with him. Or maybe that's santorum's new job? Or perhaps the teabaggers have already started on that one?

Whatever. They can all go straight to hell in their clown car for all I care. Leave what's left of America safe for the rest of us.

john roberts may not fully understand. He's the stupidest fucking Chief Justice EVER.

He is a national embarrassment and epic historic disgrace.

Just keep in mind that:

-- This is the IDIOT who had almost two full months to study up on the wording of the Presidential Oath of Office.
-- This is the IDIOT who, when he learned he was chosen as a nominee for Chief Justice, HAD to have been told that, as Chief Justice, it would thus be his job to swear in the President of the United States on Inauguration Day.
-- This is the IDIOT who certainly must have had even the barest inkling that if Barack Obama won the 2008 election, his inauguration would be frickin' HISTORIC and outstandingly important in American history. ("Ooooh, wanna make sure I look my best that day. The networks are gonna rerun this clip for decades!&quot
-- This is the IDIOT who, upon realizing that Obama had indeed won the 2008 election, should have also recognized that he would have the singular historic privilege of swearing in the First Black President EVER. Gee, one would think that would be a moment not to fuck it up.
-- This is the IDIOT who ruined that historic, first-ever-in-American-history soundbite of Obama taking the Oath of Office. As a retired news reporter/anchor, THAT one pissed me off to NO END!!! Everybody who ever wants to use that clip, from now on, now-and-forever-more-amen, is gonna have to edit that stupid botched swearing in ceremony, or dump out after the first phrase ("I, Barack Hussein Obama, do solemnly swear" CUT!), for every single retrospective or historical presentation or Obama documentary or biographical review, ever, ever again.
-- This is the IDIOT who could have ensured that, if he was too nervous to remember the wording of the Presidential Oath of Office, could at least have written it down on a 3x5 card. Or do as sarah palin does: write it on his hand forcryingoutloud.

john roberts is an IDIOT. A certified, documented, card-carrying, 10k-gold-plated, national embarrassment of an IDIOT. But then again, it was an IDIOT who appointed him in the first place, so what else could we expect?

That's the filter through which I cannot avoid seeing john roberts, or assessing his actions. He has no brain. He's like that original series "Star Trek" episode called "Spock's Brain," in which female aliens remove his brain and take it back to their home planet to control all their mechanical operations. john roberts is a man without a brain. No wonder we get the cockamamie nonsensical rulings we do out of the roberts court. Because the Chief Justice is nothing but an IDIOT.

LOVE this poster!

Enough Bullshit Indeed!

Btw - Happy New Year everybody! A privilege and pleasure to be here on DU with you! This being 2012 now, I think that will make it eleven years on here for me. I found this place a few miserable months into bush-2, the first stolen term.

I know, and it drives me nuts!

I know the bad guys are in disarray at the moment but that won't last, and they'll settle on someone (probably romney) and link arms in solidarity. MAYBE they'll do it half-heartedly, especially if they still harbor some really hard feelings that THEIR choice had been better. I'm also hoping some real dingdong like ron paul or rick santorum will insist on shoving his ideology ahead of all logic and reason and intelligent, impartial, NON-agenda-driven long-range thinking, and will go rogue into a third party run. Wouldn't that be delicious? Then Obama could almost sleepwalk back into the White House.

I KNOW about the "herding cats" jokes. I KNOW about the Will Rogers witticism about the traditional and seeminly inbred disorganization of the Democrats.

"I am not a member of an organized political party. I am a Democrat." - Will Rogers (1879 – 1935), American cowboy, vaudeville performer, humorist, social commentator and motion picture actor. He was one of the world's best-known celebrities in the 1920s and 1930s.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Will_Rogers

But dammit, it's time to put our Machiavelli hats on our heads and glue our eyes on the prize and remember this is about keeping the bad guys OUT of the White House. We need to keep it. The only way to do so is to support Barack Obama. Even if you have to hold your nose.

There. Is. No. One. With. A. Better. Shot.

I say this with all my heart and sincerity, and the greatest respect: those who decide it's more important to "send a message" by defecting to vote for some Green Party candidate or Independent candidate or even NO candidate will guarantee that the republi-CON gets in. You'll be sending a message alright - that you're purposefully handing victory over to the bad guys. The ones on the other side. I went to an anti-Iraq War rally in 2003 and met an earnest young woman who was working for the Green Party candidate for California governor. Democrat Gray Davis was governor and fucking darrell issa had helped bankroll a recall election against him, with eyes on becoming Davis's republi-CON opponent. That was the one in which Ahnold stepped in, announcing his plans to run for governor on Jay Leno's show, and eventually snatched the GOP nomination from issa, who held that embarrassing news conference in which he broke into blithering, boner-esque sobs.

Anyway, that young Green Party activist was there at the rally, handing out literature about her party's candidate for governor, Peter Camejo. Camejo didn't have a prayer, but he might well siphon off just enough votes to allow "the Terminator" to pull ahead. That, or render the outcome close enough for the republi-CONS to steal. I talked with her briefly, asking her if she wasn't risking the election for us by chipping off enough slivers of support to hobble the only candidate who's even partially favorable to our way of thinking who had a realistic chance of winning, and wind up handing the REAL enemy the election instead. And she replied "...but we Have to Send a Message!"

Good God.

Is it worth sending that message that will do nothing else but allow the OTHER guy to win? Seriously? 'Cause I guarantee you: that other guy won't give a rat's ass damn about what he regards as your stupid, irrelevant, unrealistic, and ridiculously foolish frickin' message.

Oh yeah, and one more thing. Camejo did stay in the race, and when every vote really mattered, guess who got recalled? Gray Davis. Leaving us with arnold schwarzenegger. That was fun. I kept imagining seeing that young Camejo supporter and asking her - "well, how's all that 'send a message' stuff workin' out for you? Happy now?"

As a friend of yours once said to Patrick Leahy, newt, "Go Fuck Yourself."

Boo-freakin'-hoo.

Funny how he can dish it out but he can't take it when it's dished out on him. SO typical of these GOP bullies! Hell, it's so typical of ANY bullies, political or not.

About calimary

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.
