We Democrats keep acting as if we expect decent behavior from the repugnant goons-we should not
The repugnant goon part has adopted a scorched earth policy dating back for decades.
It is import to remember Trump isn't some aberration of republican philosophy, he is just the next logical step in dishonest, scorched earth politics. Fox Noise and hate radio paved the way for Trump to spread conspiracy theories. Don the Con just took the lying to another level.
Expecting today's repug party to act in good faith is a mistake. Nothing matters to them except winning.
Susan Collins will of course have different standards of behavior for Democrats and repugnant goon politicians - and judges.
Mitch Mcturtle will of course consider delaying Obama's SCOTUS pick for a year nothing and scream bloody murder at the idea of slowing down the nomination of Sir BoofsALot.
In retrospect, expecting anything other than a whitewash regarding the supplemental investigation of barfing Brett was really naive. They weren't going to follow up on the allegations of Debra Ramirez because the allegations were true and the goons didn't want any information to derail the confirmation, so they made sure that the FBI didn't ask for corroboration.
Sexual assault allegations are also no big deal to repugnant politicians and to their base if you have an R by your name.
Perjury, smurgery, so what? It's okay for Kav to lie about his drinking under oath, but it was an impeachable offense for Bill Clinton to lie about a consensual affair.
Bottom line is that we should expect that they are going to behave like this. We should quit letting any expectations of decency from these thugs cause us disappointment or cause us to drop our guard. They are lying, opportunistic thugs and that is going to be their MO at every turn.
We should attack the lies and corruption every day without repeating the right wing talking points.
Some democratic politician should get in front of a camera every morning and give the daily Trump lie briefing for the prior day, saying something like "Trump lied 6 times yesterday, twice about immigration, three times about the economy and once about the Mueller investigation." These statements should be matter of fact in tone, maybe prefaced with a statement that Trump has told X number of verifiable lies so far in his presidency, making it clear that Trump lying 6 times is a day is nothing unusual. It is not acceptable behavior, but at this point it is expected, because Trump is a serial liar.
Further explanation would be fact checks avoiding the RW rhetoric, something like, the Trump described a group of non-white immigrants as criminals, when historically, these people commit fewer crimes than citizens born in the USA. He claimed that immigrants that were seeking asylum had entered the country illegally, when they had not.
It should take a super majority to seat a supreme court justice
Add that to the list of constitutional amendments we need.
Others include eliminating the electoral college, limiting campaign spending to something like .5% of median income per person per year, declaring that corporate person-hood doesn't include any political rights at all.
And changing the 2nd amendments to allow regulation of gun rights for private citizens.
There are already 2 identified accusers waiting in the wings
Not to mention 2 anonymous accusers.
I suspect Dr. Ford’s testimony and her treatment in this process will inspire others to come forward with similar accusations.
It’s clear this man is like Trump, with a history of abusing women and using money and status to get away with it.
Given this pattern of behavior, Kav has surely abused more than 5 women.
It's hard to confuse people who are telling the truth

Yes, the Russians helped Trump but so did Moore and people like him. How many votes did the “both parties are the same” meme cost Hillary? More than enough to win the election.
W gave us the Iraq war; a destabilized Middle East, ISIS and an economic collapse that almost caused a depression.
Trump has already given us two years of chaos and Facism Lite, not to mention a bazillion right wing ideologue judges and an outrageous tax cut for the rich-and he’s just getting started.
Moore does more harm than good and has for years.

Trump always makes whatever it is about him
Never mind that the FBI had Carter Page on their radar for 3+ years prior to the campaign.
The FBI didn’t tell Trump about Page being a suspected Russian asset because they didn’t trust Trump with the information.
He pretends they were just picking on poor little Comrade Donnie.

I remember arguing with these guys during Bush 43’s administration.
Their go-to move was to ask, “Why do you hate America?
Looking back on it, the appropriate response would have been “Why do you have sex with goats?”
They asked a grossly unfair question to end the discussion. Replying with an unfair question may have actually gotten their attention, but probably not.
They weren’t going to have any kind of discussion in good faith, they were going to attack my patriotism because I thought invading Iraq was wrong and I said so.
The bottom line is in America there are a bunch of po’ and oppressed white people (in their minds) and whatever they say is justified because they have been so badly wronged.
They listen to these conspiracy theorists on the radio who reinforce their victim hood.
The repugnant goons don’t really help these people, the pugs actually screw them over economically. But they do reinforce the idea that their skin color and/or religion makes these red necks superior.
I don’t hate America, but really dislike these Americans.
Trump: a monkey that escaped from a cocaine study
NPR interviewed an editor from The National Review this morning who said that Trump’s lawyers act like they have no control over Trump, that he is like an escaped monkey from a cocaine study.
I think the editor’s name was Jonah Goldberg.
It was in regards to Trump being interviewed by Mueller.
With all due apologies to monkeys, I thought that the analogy was pretty funny, especially coming from a conservative.

It’s a term even the least informed, dumbest trumpanzee can wrap their head around.
It starts the narrative, accurate in my opinion, that Trump is just a career criminal who inherited enough money to commit white collar crimes instead of robbing banks.
If Trump has been born poor, he would probably either be dead or in jail by now.
