Elizabeth and Bernie ?

Have you noticed?

That Democrats run on issues that they want to pass into law once they are elected.

And Republicans run against the issues that Democrats want to pass into laws. They don't say what they are for or what they want to pass into laws.

Once elected, Democrats are fought and blocked by the Republicans on all the issues they said they were for when they were running.

However, Republicans, when elected, pass legislation that was never debated or discussed before they were elected. For example, trillion dollar taxcuts for the wealthy. Or repeal of regulations that protect the average citizen. Or repeal of trade treaties and making deals with dictators.

What if Democrats never discussed what they were going to pass but only criticized what the Republicans had done? What if they waited until they had the majority and then passed huge tax increases on the wealthy, Medicare-for-all, free college education, etc?

I think the Republicans definitely have the advantage in the present set-up for presidential elections.

Dance with them that brung you...

There is a winning message out there.

Our country needs a Kennedyesque, inspirational person to give it. Unfortunately, that person is not running for President.

It is not about division. It is about bringing the nation together. That is the winning message.

However impossible it may seem, that is where you will find the pulse of America.

Are you able to ignore the the right-wing noise machine?

People like Limbaugh and Hannity?

People like Donald Trump?

Or do you allow yourself to be pre-occupied with their bullshit?

I will admit that it is hard to ignore Donald Trump because he is always yelling and saying outlandish BS.

But, sometimes you have to compartmentalize. You have to put them in a back drawer and give yourself a break.

And you tell yourself it is for your own mental well-being?

Or do you enjoy being in their face every day? All day long?

Just think about how you are depriving them of the attention they crave? They need the attention like roaches need darkness.

Are you able to put them in a compartment and keep them there for as long as you like? I am working on it.

There is nothing wrong with an impeachment inquiry.

There is nothing wrong with saying you are in an impeachment inquiry.

It will be interesting to see how the Court rules on the House Judiciary request for Grand Jury information?

How much more specific will the House have to be about their "impeachment inquiry"?

Donald Trump and the Republicans should be happy that it is not a full-blown impeachment indictment. No matter how much they spin it, an impeachment process in the House would not be good news for them.

Except they do have big appetites. It takes a lot of evidence to convince them that crimes have been committed and the rules of law have been violated.

That is why the impeachment inquiry is necessary. There should be no time limit on it because there is so much to investigate. It doesn't really matter if it goes thru election day. There is no reason to halt the investigation. It must be done.

There will be oversight from the Democrats.

Are the Admins on vacation?

Not that they don't deserve one.

Just curious.

Sh-h-h... Don't tell the Trump supporters...

But Donald Trump is getting ready to sell nuclear materials to Saudi Arabia, the country that donated 17 terrorists for the attack on the WTC on 9/11.

They have no need to know that. It might make them question their loyalty to their Supreme Leader? That would not be good for their mental health. We must continue to treat them like baby mushrooms.

The Senate failed to over-ride his veto from a previous vote and the deal is now on. Someone might wish to make a list of those Republicans that voted with Donald Trump on this deal with Saudi Arabia?

It doesn't look good and it really stinks!

on edit:
(Also, it might be a good time to put in your own man as the Director of National Intelligence?)

Are you concerned that Trump will take over the Courts the same way he has taken over the Senate?

The most recent decision by the Supreme Court was puzzling to a lot of people. How could the Supreme Court rule that a President could take money appropriated by Congress and spend it however he wishes? If he wanted $2.5 billion to build his wall, no problem, he could take it from the Pentagon budget.

The loyalty of the cult runs very deep. Does it run into the functioning of our Court System? Are there judges that will put honest and non-partisan decisions to the side, in favor of helping Donald Trump and his radical agenda? They support Trump and his Party over judicial temperament?

Maybe so? We will see how the Courts handle the issues of House oversight in their upcoming decisions. If Donald Trump seizes control of our judges in the manner he has taken control of the US Senate, our democracy is in deep peril.

Democrats authority does not extend to conviction in the Senate.

Their authority and their responsibility stops in the US House of Representatives. Because they are only the majority in the House.

To argue that there is no need to impeach because the Senate would never convict is arguing a case over which the House has no purview.

Their responsibility is to impeach, not to convict. That is the purview of the US Senate.

The House can only do what they have the authority to do. To discuss conviction is out of context in discussing the responsibility of the House of Representatives.

Perhaps it is a trivial point? But it seems to me that conviction should not be part of the Democrats argument over whether or not to impeach?

I want to see one Democrat in the upcoming debates....

...look in the camera and call out Donald Trump for his racism and his division of the American people.

If just one candidate can pull themselves away from talking about "Medicare for All", etc, to mention the existential threat that sits in the White House, it will get my attention. It will set them apart from the other nineteen candidates, in my opinion.

Is that too much to expect?
