A return to a "new normal"?
We were not "normal" before this pandemic. That is why our country is so divided now. It was divided then. Partisan politics had reached a fever pitch. There is nothing "normal" about it. The division is a detriment to our country.
Too many people do not trust Donald Trump. Before the pandemic, they knew him to be a liar. A dishonest person, probably doing business with the Russian mob? Someone who cares about no-one except himself.
We cannot escape the reality that surrounds us. Richard Nixon could not escape the Watergate scandal. Donald Trump cannot escape the "Pandemic" scandal. It doesn't matter if he is personally responsible for any of the deaths, it happened on his watch. With political historians, they tend to give credit or blame to the president who is in office at that time. Trump cannot escape that stamp of history.
So, what type of "new normal" are we returning to? There is an insane person driving the bus and, on top of that, he is also blind. And blindly they follow. One dare not think the darkest possibilities.

Call it the biggest 'scandal" in the history of this country.
Request that Lindsey Graham call Barack Obama before his Committee for sworn testimony.
It always works when he evokes the name of Barack Obama. It began many years ago when he created the "truther" conspiracy. Now, he wants to create another conspiracy theory around General Michael Flynn.
But, what needs to be asked is, "Why did you fire him, Asshole?" You told the people that he lied to the FBI and the Vice-President and that is why you had to let him go. Were you lying? Were you deceived? General Flynn pleaded guilty twice to lying to the FBI. That is a crime.
What type of distraction is he trying to create? His people slop it up when he talks about Obama. They hate Obama. They believe he was the most divisive President ever. Of course, he was not. There are no facts to bear that out. The most divisive president ever is Donald J Trump and the facts do bear that out.
It is sad and depressing that we have to endure this bullshit again for another election.
That's Not My Job!
This is a story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that, because it was Everybody's job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Why are so many people at meat-processing plants catching the virus?
Is it because they are working in such close quarters?
Or is it spread from meat that has been butchered? Reportedly, it all began at a "wet market" in China?
Or is it the poor ventilation in those workplaces?
Or do the workers have weak immune systems?
How many people have these folks come into contact with, including their families?
Also, we read that old folks in nursing homes are a big target for the virus, as well as jails and prisons.
The thing they all have in common is that they are breathing the same air in enclosed environments.
This should be a top priority, I would think.
Donald Trump's tortured rationale for "opening up the country".
It's all about politics and messaging. Nothing is more important to him than winning the next election. Nothing.
He was presented with a choice. Either keep the country closed for a while longer and watch the economy slip even deeper into the ditch and almost guarantee his defeat in November? Or open the country up and take the chance, the probability, that many more Americans will die?
He has chosen the one that he can most likely talk his way around. If a hundred thousand more Americans die, he can blame it on China and on the virus. He had nothing to do with it. If Obama had not left the shelves empty...etc...
But it is not good enough to say, once upon a time we had the greatest economy in the world, if you don't have a job and are now hungry and don't know where the next meal is coming from?
So he has made the decision to try and get the economy improved. If he can get the unemployment rate below 10% by November, he will call it a great success. He will sell that to his followers.
Unfortunately, the people's confidence in their government has been shattered. And Donald Trump is not capable of instilling confidence in the majority of the American people. In his quest to divide and conquer, he has divided himself.
