You don't want to miss this Super Bowl...

...they are getting ready to trade our democracy so Donald Trump can be interviewed by Sean Hannity.

Mitch McConnell has promised Dear Leader he will make sure he gets to his interview on time.

Democracy, meh! It wasn't that great anyway...

Bread and circuses.

What happens if there is a 50/50 vote...?

..to call witnesses?

Does the CJ break the tie?

That would mean that 3 Republicans would vote with Democrats, if they all vote for witnesses?

This is probably a more likely scenario than getting 4 Republicans to vote with Democrats?

If the lawyers argued that there was "executive privilege", the CJ could make a ruling on that . However, it would be subject to an over-ride by a simple majority.

What does it look like from your perspective?

What does it mean when they withhold intelligence from Congress?

More specifically, from the House Intel Committee? Adam Schiff said yesterday this was happening. How safe does that make you feel?

Not only do they not obey any subpoenas, they also ignore the right of Congress to have access to our intelligence information.

We are beyond a constitutional crisis point.

I think maybe the best the Democrats can do today is to pressure the Chief Justice to make some sort of rulings, just to show that our democracy is still intact?

Make them uncomfortable. Make them vote. Do not give them an easy way out.

Although people look at this impeachment trial as isolated into two charges....

...there is a lot more to it. It is about more than abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

Abuse of power can include numerous transgressions.

The charges should not be looked at in an isolated manner, in my opinion.

We have to look at the totality of the Presidency to analyze it most honestly. We need to include the Stormy Daniels matter. It was important. Pay an adult film star money, just before the election, to keep her quiet. Because, to make public at that time, would threaten his opportunity to become president. He paid her off.

There are many incidents that happened and were overlooked before the Ukraine scandal. It is the nature of the man. Is he fit to be President of the United States? That is the debate.

With Alan Dershowitz, it seems the law is whatever you can get away with?

At least, that's my impression.

He seems to have a counter-prevailing argument to matters such as "quid pro quos". And he seems to believe if a president does something, and he says it is for the good of the country, then it cannot be illegal or even, inappropriate. For example, if he gets help from another country in creating false rumors about one of his opponents, then there is nothing wrong with that.

Dershowitz might confess? The law is whatever you can get away with? I wish he could speak with more clarity. His arguments need to be examined.

What will be the biggest scandals for Trump in the next ten months?

Will there be financial scandals? How much will we find out about Russian money?

Will there be any more military adventures? Are they looking for responses to Iran?

How many more people will expose the secrets within the White House? There seems to be a story at least once a week?

What do you see on the horizon?

How much pressure is on Chief Justice John Roberts?

Adam Schiff committed the Democrats to supporting whatever decision he made about "executive privilege" or the relevancy of witnesses or other rulings. He asked if Republicans would do the same. Jay Sekulow said, "No way".

If Democrats are successful with a motion to get the Chief Justice to rule on witnesses or executive privilege, will the Republicans vote against giving the Chief Justice those powers?
Will McConnell find a way to shut it down before it gets that far? It will only take 51 votes to defeat any motion.

The debate was about the expediency of a quick Court decision and the unnecessary delays in a drawn-out court battle. The Republicans would have no part of it. They want it over immediately. The fix is in.

Republicans can plead temporary insanity.

There is no other excuse for this lapse from reality.

They wait patiently for the Turtle to declare his political strategy and they immediately fall in line. He knows there is only one Senator that is not threatened politically by Donald Trump. That would be Mitt Romney. Also, he knows there is one Senator that cannot win without Democratic votes. That would be Susan Collins. The rest have been bought off, including Lisa Murkowski. Do not expect any more than two votes.

When they wake up and look around, who will they blame? Did they really support such unthinkable and criminal actions? Did they really believe it was OK for foreign entanglements in our elections? Did they truly believe that Donald Trump was innocent?

We can only hope the temporary insanity is not permanent?

Banned ?

Has John Bolton's book been banned? Or is it in the process of being banned? Will the White House be successful in getting a court order to keep it from being published on March 17th?

What is it in the book that is so threatening to this White House? Are there people in the NSC that believe Donald Trump is a threat to our national security? Do they believe him to be a Russian agent? What information are they keeping from the American people?

When our country begins to ban books, we are in some very dire straits.

About one of the revelations from Bolton's manuscript?

It sort of stuck in the back of my mind when I read it.

He said Trump wanted Ukraine to investigate "Democrats". He wanted these American citizens investigated before Biden ever got into the race?

It wasn't just about Joe Biden. It was about the "Democrats".

What difference does that make?

It wasn't just about his possible opponent in the next election. It was about "Democrats". It was about American citizens.

It is worse than it has been portrayed.
