I am so sad for the families who lost people on MA370, but

I also just wish the authorities would end the psychodrama.

In plane crashes like this one, they needed to come out at the first or second "press conference" and just say out loud what everyone really knows.

for example:

"Your family members are presumed dead...their demise was most likely instantaneous...or seconds-long"... we are very sorry, and even though money cannot replace them, we will help you financially as much as we can. We may NEVER recover their bodies, or belongings...or even the aircraft, but IF we do, you will be notified immediately".... There is NO REASON for you to be away from your home.

and to the press:

" The only facts are 'xyz..abc..etc'. and anything else is PURE SPECULATION that only hurts the families who may be wanting to latch onto any "theory" that means their loved one may have survived..this is mean-spirirted and serves NO purpose".. We will keep you informed IF anything realistic turns up, and all information will come from Mr/Ms ....., and ONLY them"..

500 balloons

My son sent me this ...I thought I would share

Once a group of 500 people were attending a seminar. Suddenly the speaker stopped and decided to do a group activity. He started giving each person a balloon. Each person was then asked to write their name on it using a marker pen. Then all the balloons were collected and put in another room.

The people were then let into that room and asked to find the balloon which had their name written on it within 5 minutes. Everyone was frantically searching for their name, colliding with each other, pushing around others and there was utter chaos.

At the end of 5 minutes no one could find their own balloon.
Then, the speaker asked each person to randomly collect a balloon and give it to the person whose name was written on it. Within minutes everyone had their own balloon.

The speaker then began, "This is happening in our lives. Everyone is frantically looking for happiness all around, not knowing where it is.

Our happiness lies in the happiness of other people. Give them their happiness; you will get your own happiness. And this is the purpose of human life...the pursuit of happiness."

Biden? Clinton?.. How about NEITHER ?

"Up with Steve Kornacki" is going on and on about how poor old Joe has such low numbers against Hillary.

In this time we live in, gender (female) trumps sitting-veep.

But even if Hillary was content to not run and to say it in no uncertain terms, I would still not want Joe to run.

I am mostly upset at how everyone is totally negating and lame-ducking the president we just re-elected not that long ago.

I am nearly 65, so I DO know the value of experience, but I also know how important it should be to have a younger person in charge...someone who grew up "digital", and who has a fuller understanding of our newer ways of working/banking/investing/communicating, etc.

No one is "owed" the presidency, and even though it might be "loverly" to see a female president, I would prefer a tech-savvy younger person.

Every time I start to focus on all the upsetting things our government does/does not do, I find myself wishing we had a better system....one where all offices are ONE-TERM... No need to campaign for re-election .. President 6 years & out..senate 6 years and out, house 4 years and out. Without the need to STAY elected at any cost, perhaps legislators would feel free to actually legislate.
