He was just now on Morning Joe , spouting nonsense about why GoogleMaps went to Canada.
His claim is that Canada's more welcoming to the high tech foreign people who want to work for Google....as if WE have no such people here.
Companies go to Canada a LOT because in Canada they do not have to pay/help the employees pay for medical insurance.
Companies have basically 4 choices when they locate a company:
1...Sweatshop, Bangladesh/China...'nuff said
2...Canada.. nice standard of living and no messy health care stuff to fool with
3...States-Rights, US... cheap labor and worth what it costs, health care issues
4..Anywhere Else, US...higher quality workers who may want a union and health care.

I see Sally moving to Calif to live with Don & his wife & then getting caught up in the counter-culture..
Don's forced hiatus would keep him in LA as well, where he would open his own "shop".
I would make Betty a rich widow (hubby & his Mom die in a car crash)
The older gents at the NY office retire & Joan ends up the boss.
Peggy is made a partner & marries someone not in advertising (a man who we never see). She ends up subletting Don's swanky apartment.
Pete ends up working for Joan & Peggy.
The final scene would be Betty & their boys boarding a plane to go visit Sally ....cut to Sally carrying a protest sign in Haight-Ashbury...then nothing..
The ending would signify the passing of the torch ... and without Don Draper...

Mormon Mom Who Fought for Prop 8, Now Fights for Gay Son
Wendy and Tom Montgomery are devout Mormons from California who pounded on doors in 2008 to support the passage of Proposition 8, the state referendum that overturned the ruling that allowed same-sex couples to marry in California, and is now before the U.S. Supreme Court.
They did so not knowing that their now 14-year-old son, Jordan, was gay and would later contemplate suicide because of the church's steadfast belief that homosexuality is a sin that would cut him off from his family not only here on earth but in the afterlife.
"One of core tenets we believe in as Mormons is that the family is eternal in nature," Wendy Montgomery, 37, told ABCNews.com. "Our family units are really strong." Raised in a conservative community in California, the mother of six children said she often heard things like "gay people are disgusting and immoral" and "AIDS is God's punishment for homosexuality."

The thing that saddens me the most is that we had a very small sliver of light streaming through an almost-closed door, but our congress/white house of 09-10 were too timid to "go to that light". The senate was tight but the election shenanigans of '08 were fresh enough wounds, and our president had unheard of popularity.. that should have been issue number 1.
For that very short time we HAD a house of reps that COULD and DID act on many important issues, but they "passed" on the most important one of all...voting issues that plagued (s) almost EVERY state in some way, EVERY election.
Now those states/localities are "free at last" to tinker around with elections in any and every way they can.
Republicans NEVER EVER "just wait a bit".. The instant they get the reins of power, they start right in, and they never let up/ They understand that power can be fleeting, and they come to office with already prepared "ideas & plans" and then they implement them whether people like it or not. They do not care if thousands of people show up in their statehouses or if the opposition issues strongly worded statements ...or even if they leave the state to delay the inevitable.
They are now like a car thief who finds a BMW convertible (top down)with keys in the ignition. They have no gas money and they probably will crash the car, but they WILL drive off with it ....and no one can call the cops on them..

People who run their own businesses and who hire people just need to treat everyone they hire, as they would a member of their own family when it comes to working conditions, pay, treatment, and conversation with/about.
It always just comes down to the Golden Rule.
In this day & age where any public document is readily available to read and distribute across the internet, things you said ANYWHERE, to ANYONE, for ANY reason could come back to haunt you.
I'm sure she thought this was just a silly lawsuit that she (with her money & notoriety) would easily win, but she was very wrong...

Howard Kurtz is taking his critical lens on the media from CNN to Fox News.
The media critic and longtime host of CNN's "Reliable Sources" will anchor a similar weekend show for Fox News starting in July. In making the announcement, Fox News executive vice president Michael Clemente said Kurtz is a "master of social media trends, information good and bad, and a veteran political reporter. Altogether, he will add even greater depth to a very accomplished team of reporters and anchors."

More recently, he took heat for an article on the Daily Beast about NBA player Jason Collins announcing his homosexuality. Kurtz criticized the article Collins wrote for Sports Illustrated because Kurtz claimed that Collins didn't acknowledge he had once been engaged to a woman. The problem was that Collins had mentioned his engagement in his article. Kurtz also made a video about Collins' article for a website called Daily Download that made fun of the player. Kurtz left the Daily Beast soon after the article, while CNN stood by him. Kurtz will also write a column on the media for Fox News' website.
