His answers were well thought out, detailed and well delivered. Like Obama, he speaks in paragraphs.
Now that he's got some federal experience under his belt I see him as a viable Presidential candidate.
I did the dead parrot sketch with Telus tech support
I'm an electronic technician. I don't know how many multimeters I own. My security camera, supplied by Telus, quit working so I took it down off the pole, brought it inside and plugged it in. Nothing. No lights.
So I reached for the nearest multimeter and tested the 12 Volt power supply. Nothing. Checked the multimeter with a battery. It's fine.
Phone up Telus tech support, eventually get routed to the correct department.
TrogL: Hi I'm an electronic technician. My security camera is dead. Needs a new power supply.
Telus: I've logged into your system, the camera appears to be fine.
Trogl: Glad you think so, it's sitting on the car seat next to me.
Telus: Sometimes changing the position affects the WiFi.
TrogL: No. Stop reading from the script and listen. It is dead. IT HAS GONE TO MEET ITS MAKER.
Telus: We will need to send a technician to enter your house and check the wiring.
TrogL: No. Pay attention. It is an outdoor camera. Its power supply is dead. There is no voltage. IT IS DEAD. IT SLEEPS WITH THE FISHES. IT HAS GONE TO MEET ITS MAKER. IT IS A DEAD...errr...CAMERA.
He called his supervisor. They were unable to cope with just sending a power supply so they sent a new camera.
I rescued a magpie the other day
Crows are covids. So are magpies which we have in abundance here. Being a large bird they tend to be noisy. They are also quite intelligent. One plays tag with my dog. The ither day a neighbour came over with a box with an injured magpie in it. I put the box in a large dog cage down in the basement and turned the lights out.
When I got home from work I went down to check on it. It was still in the box but when I moved the box it got out, squarked at me once, fluttered around a bit and got its wings caught in the top of the cage. I went to get heavy gloves but by the time I got back it was sitting on too of the box. I talked to it for a bit, asking if he wantrd to stay of go. I carried the cage upstairs, stopped in the living room for a picture then took him outside and opened the cage door. I had to coax him out. I figured if he was too week to fly I'd recage him and call animal control and maybe keep him. Apparently they make great pets and can learn to talk. However with a bit of coaxing he flew off, circled over the house then back towards where he was found.
What is flexible thing with clamps on both ends to transfer torque from a motor to a shaft

When my hearing aids are connected by Bluetooth, connected to Zoom, the sound pans
...depending on where I'm standing in relation to yhe phone.
I know that's a "feature" you can turn on/off but I can't find it. I'm having to swtch to Airpods.
How do I get a word in edgewise?
There are many people who I have to talk to for various reasons but they're impossible to talk to because they never let me finish a sentence of more than three words.
Examples;
I've got a burned out speedometer light on my dash, so I buy the bulb they told me to buy (but I suspect it's actually the odometer light). My ABS is acting up so that dash light is on and it is the right bulb, so I attempt to explain ti the mechanic that the speedometer light is out, I have a bulb but I think it's the wrong one, so if it is, steal the ABS light and use that. He interrupts as soon as he hears that I've git a bulb, saying "so you want me to replace that bulb", then he finally gets it that I want a different bulb replaced, as soon as he hears "ABS" he wants to replace that, so I try a third time. It comes back from the shop with the odometer light replaced, no speedometer light and two others not working.
Tonight I have to explsin to somebody that they have to register to park, no I cannot do anything aboit their old ticket because I don't have the software, and if they're going to be there that often, they should apply to be on the whitelist. Nothing doing. Interrtion after interruption after interruption.
Earlirr tonight I'm explaining that yes, I will hire her friend to do my back yard but I need to be there, yes she can have some paving stones, but the square ones not the curvy ones as I need them. Nothing doing. I get three words out, she's talking again.
Ideas?
How long do hearing aid batteries last?
They came with a box of 60 so I bought another box.
I was told they needed to be replaced every day but I've gotten four days off this set with no end in sight.
Did I buy a years' supply?
Craftygal died Wednesday night....but...
I called for ambulance and paramedics were there in two minutes then they had her on the floor doing two-man CPR, then they shocked her twice, got a pulse then they got her on a board, then a stretcher and off to the ambulance where they got her stable, then off to the hospital.
When I got to Emerg she was having a CAT scan then they let me in the room and she was hooked up to a bazillion machines and they had her in an induced coma. Later that night she was transferred to ICU.
Next morning, ot a call from ICU saying they were taking her tubes out and I could visit later in the afternoon. Given her condition the night before, I'm expecting it to be pretty bad.
So I walk in and she's sitting up watching TV.
My expenses so far, $CAN18.50 for parking.
Anybody who is critical of Canadian health care can go fuck themselves.
