Why do so many Americans support a neofascist? - The Coffee Klatch with Robert Reich

Heather and I take a deep dive into why so many Americans are supporting a neofascist for president. Trump is the consequence rather than the cause of several major problems that have worsened over four decades — problems that have undermined the American middle class, and caused a substantial number of people to become angry, anxious, and cynical.

Please pull up a chair and grab a cup of coffee. - 04/27/2024.

And a lot of other countries around the world.

Some people aren't happy with their lives and want things to be better.
One solution is to destroy the systems you live under and are constrained by, so that you get the opportunity to blossom in the magnificence you think you are entitled to.

It's the Fascist Doctrine, in short.

Others may feel they stand to lose much more than they hope to gain from a major cultural upheaval, and work to make the current system better.

Essentially, the Destroyers vs the Builders.

Seeing what the problem isn't the problem.
What to do about it, that is the problem.
(For a starter, don't let Trump back into the White House.)
