1. Minnesota is a swing state?

It hasn't gone Republican in a presidential race since 1972.
A Republican hasn't won a statewide race since 2006 - and that was with a plurality (about 46%) not a majority.
The DFL controls both houses of the legislature
All four statewide Contstitutional offices are held by Democrats (Governor, Lt. Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, and Auditor
And the Republicans can't find a serious candidate to run against Amy Klobuchar this year.

2. Eliminate the filibuster

Is eliminating the filibuster something Sen. Charles "Chuck" Schumer would want to do? (Perhaps like BT Cohen regarding the characterization Minnesota as swing state, I have a mistaken impression, of which I would welcome being disabused).

If we have a 50-50 Senate in 2024 and a Democratic president, would all 50 senators be on board for elimination of the filibuster? I wonder. Does the President need to sign that legislation? Would he?
