A lot of people were "concerned" about foreign money influencing Trump way back in 2016.

(3,062 posts)3. Tempting as that may be for Trump, he has to know how bad the optics would be on direct foreign help.
Now, if say the Saudis told a major US bond provider that they'll cover any losses and go ahead and issue paper to Trump, could fly under the radar. Would think that would have happened already so Trump didn't have to look like a flailing fish out of water. And even then, I bet the truth would leak out somehow. As long as Trump gets burned, hope he goes for it.
