I can remember as a 5-year-old, hiding in the basement of the school from expected Russian bombs! And where were they during Jimmy Carter's grain embargo, or when we skipped he Olympic games when they were held in the USSR?! And what about Ronald Reagan's famous speech "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!" Have they only started paying attention for the first time in their lives to TFG's lies?! 
If I was outdoors and heard a plane buzzing overhead, I figured that this was it, the Russians were coming, and I was filled with fear and ran into the house, expecting the bombs... 
We did the hide under the desk or in the hall thing for years. I hated it. My dad was in the military so we heard all about it from my parents who had to explain to us why we moved so much back then. I have a thing where any aircraft passing overhead close enough to see what it is has me rushing to the door to look at it, I have to see what it is. Unfortunately for me, I live under a lifeflight corridor so it's always helicopters! Ugh! At least I can tell military from civilian, I can usually tell by the sound. It's life a reflex, I almost can't stop from running outside to look at whatever it is flying over me.
Where and when did these people grow up??
