Watch: Elizabeth Warren calls two of her Minnesota supporters

https://bringmethenews.com/minnesota-news/watch-elizabeth-warren-calls-two-of-her-minnesota-supporters

This is great fun and definitely shows the EW style!

A pair of Minnesotans who camped out overnight to be among the state's first early voters on Friday got quite the surprise for the effort: a call from their presidential candidate of choice.

On Friday, Sen. Elizabeth Warren shared a video on Twitter of her calling the two to thank them for their votes, "the first votes in the state for me":
...
According to the video, the two voters (K. Davis Senseman and Jared) held vigil all night, in sub-zero temperatures, to make sure the first votes in Minneapolis were cast for the Massachusetts senator.

The video has gone far and wide on social media, receiving over five thousand likes and over a thousand shares.
...
Though early voting kicked off Friday in Minnesota, the state's 2020 primary — the first since the switch from the old caucus system after a number of issues in 2016 — is officially on March 3.

Warren will by presidential decree on day one cancel up to $50,000 in student loan debt for all earning less than $150,000 per year. A percentage will be cancelled for those earning more, phased out as income rises. 95% of those with student loan debt will get financial help on day one. 100% for sure. Aren’t there some Trump voters who will flip to Warren because of that? I paid off my loans decades ago but isn’t this a killer winning appeal for democrats who promise student loan relief? The money is owed to the US department of education, right? So it can be cancelled by Presidential decree on day 1, right?

about that. The authority to forgive debt is actually granted to the Secretary of Education, a member of the Executive Branch.

But, as the Secretary appointee - who would have to run the Senate approval gauntlet - could not take office on Day One, Elizabeth apparently believes that she, as President and therefore Head of the Executive Branch, could get a jump on this issue right away.

Given that she is not only an attorney, but also a very effective one, and because she certainly would have consulted and verified this action with other legal experts, she probably can, despite all the mostly non-legal naysayers. She doesn't make things up out of whole cloth.

I cannot attend unfortunately). She's a HUGE MA dem, very liberal and will probably vote for Elizabeth in her MA primary. Here's hoping.

Not about your having to miss the graduation, but that your daughter is a huge MA Dem and will hopefully vote for Warren.
