Kamala Harris coming to Alabama for ADC convention

U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris of California, a candidate for the Democratic nomination for president next year, will be the keynote luncheon speaker at the Alabama Democratic Conference meeting in Montgomery in June.

Harris will speak at the Kennedy-Johnson-King Luncheon on June 8 at the Renaissance Hotel in Montgomery, the ADC announced in a press release.

Harris, who grew up in Oakland, served as district attorney in San Francisco and California’s attorney general before she was elected to the Senate in 2017.

The meeting in June will be the ADC’s 59th annual convention. ADC Chairman Joe Reed said the organization has not endorsed any presidential candidates but will do so before the March 3, 2020 presidential primary in Alabama.
