This time around I am making my choice for Democratic Primary candidate on one criteria

Who can beat the fucking orange fucker who stole the last GE with help from the Russians.

Nothing. Absolutely NOTHING is more important than that.

I haven’t decided who that is yet because it is too early.

We have one shot. We cannot eat each other alive over who has the more progressive agenda. If everyone has the same mindset that the most important agenda is to beat the Trumpass we will win.

All the Democrats running would be better for us policy wise. But who can bring it home should be reason number one on everyone’s mind.

Why? Because it is most important we beat him and the Republicans or our country will further decline.

So, who is with me!

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Our country and our planet are in grave danger.

We have suffered enough. We must end this madness.

Sat Apr 27, 2019, 10:22 AM

We have to defeat trump. There is a very good chance that trump will win if we pick a weak or unsafe choice. There are posters who believe that we can nominate the most liberal/socialist nominee as possible and that candidate will easily win because everyone hates trump. It is their position that this is a historic opportunity to nominate someone would otherwise not be electable.

From Larry Sabato https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/the-economy-got-nixon-reagan-and-bush-reelected-it-could-do-it-for-trump-too/2019/04/23/b8920d34-65e6-11e9-a1b6-b29b90efa879_story.html?utm_term=.a35b315730d2

Ultimately, Trump may turn out to be at the mercy of conventional factors. In 2016, academic predictive models based on fundamentals such as the state of the economy suggested that Trump, or any other Republican candidate, was in position to win the election or come very close. This time, such models (once they become operative next year) could make Trump the early favorite despite his poor approval ratings.

Credit the powers of incumbency and a strong economy, the state of which may matter more to Trump’s odds than nearly anything else. Incumbency and the economy, among other matters, ended up being more than enough for Nixon, Reagan and Bush. Despite Trump’s unprecedented outlandishness, that same combination might work for him, too.

Most POTUS are re-elected if the economy is good. Here is a scary study that shows this

There are good reasons to doubt this study

I do not believe that trump is assured of winning. If we want to win, Democrats need to nominate a strong nominee who is NOT too far out of the mainstream

I'm reluctant to take any of our good Senators or even House members out of Congress, unless it is ironclad guaranteed that another good Dem will take their place.

So I'm leaning toward someone not in Congress. And Joe Biden fits that criterion, and also has a lot of experience, political and governmentally. I also like Inslee and Hickenlooper, but they are longshots at this point.

Mitch, and his cronies. Someone who will monitor our elections like we're a third world country especially in ky, ar, mn, wisc, fl, oh, and bama. . Someone who will reestablish the fairness doctrine. Someone who will make a law that establishes a bar of fairness that any company that operates in our country, using our labor, taxs or pay for services can't operate with shateholders or managment making more than 100 times more than the lowest paid employee or contractor.

Then, Republicans look long and hard for some "moderate" GOPer to run in trump's place.

I know people believe trump won't drop out. But if GOPers decide trump is a loser as the election approaches, they'll tell him they will support his impeachment unless he drops out. He won't have much choice.

I think a bunch of us are. There may be some disagreement on strategy for picking who should be the nominee. But ultimately, I would say if there was an option "whoever is most likely to beat Trump", that one would be the winner of DU selections, by far.

He does need to go. But, IMHO,the most important issue is climate change. We're all gonna be dead in 10 years, we must stop using all fossil fuels very quickly. We can do both nominate a candidate who enthusiastically supports the GND and throw MF45 out. Let's try impeachment first, if that fails onto the election.
