Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumMayor Pete's favorite books (per an article in the April 15-28 issue of "New York" magazine).
Top of the heap: "Ulysses" by James Joyce (Buttigieg carries a copy of it with him, and considers it to be "The greatest work of modern English literature"
Other favorites: "The Odyssey" by Homer, "The Little Prince" by Saint-Exupery, "A Child's Christmas In Wales" by Dylan Thomas, "Wolf Hall" by Hilary Mantel, and "The Quiet American" by Graham Greene.
Contrast the foregoing with our current White House resident, whose grasp of the English language is tenuous at best.

(2,686 posts)Trump's favorite books haven't been written yet, that's all. When they have been, he'll get Ivanka to read them to him in bed while he watches Hannity.
And Mayor Pete's favorites may be called "classic" by the Eastern elites from places like South Bend, but they all have way too many words for a busy chief executive. Besides, none of them have anything praising Trump's presidency, or golf game, or hair, or first daughter.

(146,192 posts)if you have the patience and the mind that can untangle it, Ulysses is pretty amazing. It's not a nice beach read, though.
