Hillary Clinton says she 'can't imagine' running for president again

The Hill

Hillary Clinton says she "can't imagine" running for president again, but says in a new interview that she's "going to keep speaking out" about President Trump.

“I can’t imagine that, no,” the former secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee said Monday on Tina Brown's podcast "TBD" when asked whether she could change her mind about running in 2020.

“I am very worried about the direction that Trump and his allies are taking us,” she added. “Just because I’m not running, I’m not going to keep my mouth shut. I’m going to keep speaking out.”

Clinton discussed the challenges for women running for president in 2020, such as Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) and Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.).
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Obama said such as well during the '16 election. The repugs hate her because they cant bear to see another Clinton in the WH, nevermind a woman. So they helped get this compromised Idiot who engineered a plot w the russians to get him in.
I am an ardent Hilary supporter. But given the tulmultuous times we are in now i think its best Hilary doesnt subject herself to a 3rd run. She will always be my president. With her very long career in public service and illustrious achievements she can assist whomever gets the Dems nomination, and once elected, assistance wherever/however is needed to restore our country to greatness again. The devastation the GOP & this Idiot has done is great. We need her now more than ever to put the US back to normal.

Bloomberg is only a couple months younger than Bernie, and Warren would be almost 80 at the end of 2 terms as well. Hillary would be 81.

Why should many millennials have to wait until they are almost FIFTY to get a post-Boomer POTUS?

They may not even get it then (in 8 years). IF late Boomers ran and won down the road at the roughly the ages Biden, Sanders, etc will be in 2020, you could have Boomers theoretically as POTUS until 2048 or 2052!!!!

In fact, Biden, Trump (gag), Sanders, Bloomberg are not even Boomers, they are from the Silent Generation. Hillary (b. 1947) herself is a very early Boomer, almost silent Gen as well.

Time for new generations to take the lead at POTUS level, IMHO.

Kamala Harris is probably my number 1 choice for our POTUS nominee this 2020 cycle. I NEVER said anything bad about Obama, I think over he was a good POTUS. Magnificent compare the the fucker Trump.

That said Harris would been our oldest elected winner since Truman.

I am NOT going after a specific generation, just saying that generations time comes and goes and it most definitely does matter what 'era' one comes from when you look at when they are running for POTUS.

Let's take Biden for instance. He not only is out of touch with younger people, but has an open antipathy for my generation (I was born in 1995) and also the Gen Zer's.

He not only ramrodded though the horrid 2005 Bankruptcy bill that crushes millions of us (NOT just students, but everyday peple as well), but also shows outright antipathy toward our 2 generations (who now make up the biggest voting block in America).

Uni cost around 250 USD per YEAR when Biden graduated. I and my college cohorts are racking up 100K, 150K, 200K, 300K USD (or more) in student loan debt!!

Plus toss on outrageous health insurance premiums and deductibles and then add inflationary costs to both!!!

The systemic wealth extraction is in breakdown mode now and will be unsustainable in just a decade or two more at current rates of increase.

We need NEW leadership, not people who are simply in 'stay the course mode'!

Silent Gens and Boomers NEVER had to deal with this level of insane wealth extraction, and people who say, 'Oh, just deal with it' can, tbh, just fuck right off.

Silent Generation politician are NOW out of touch, and by 2040 (and probably well before) so will be Boomer politicians.

She was born in 1947. 5 years ago she decided it was time to retire and travel on her pension and retirement savings.

Nothing takes away that she was a great nurse. She decided it was time to move on and enjoy life. I wish some of these older politicians would do the same.

thanks to Manafort, Trump, and his criminal gang, which includes Putin, who really managed to recreate Tymoshenko 2.0 in our own country.

What I want to see is their complete downfall.

She has oodles of cash, and young grandchildren to enjoy. in 2016, she had to run against a shouty, egotistical turd of a man who showed her nothing but disrespect.

And then she had to run against Donald Trump.

to see her drafted as a very involved VP or cabinet head for DOMESTIC issues, if foreign chaos allowed. I don't see that as a comedown but as a great opportunity to make use of a leader very well prepared to propel us forward.

FDR didn't match her ambitions. His magnificent labor secretary, Frances Perkins, who made so many of the New Deal advances happen, did though. Hillary could be our Frances Perkins (as could Elizabeth Warren), and god knows we need one as badly now as then.

That said, "can't imagine running" sounds as if she could be available for a different sort of draft. Very highly unlikely as that would be, I feel sure she would not refuse duty if it called.

I would like to see her make a speech at the democratic convention. I think she might campaign a little depending on who gets nominated. She is a well respected, intelligent, classy person who should have been president.

My heart was crushed when she had 2016 stolen from her via Russia, Trump trolls and the vile Putin Pig Puppet Jill Stein.

I don't blamer her one bit. I left DU after Trump stole the election. I had enough. Enough of the attacks on Hillary and supporters like myself. I despise they people and groups that attack her.

From the Washington Post https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/selma-event-a-showcase-for-democratic-figures/2019/03/03/9e8f55b6-3ae6-11e9-a2cd-307b06d0257b_story.html?utm_term=.4f171f0f4266

Clinton appeared at a “unity breakfast” in her honor. While some strategists believe her 2016 campaign struggled in part because of a failure to turn out enough African American voters, no such lack of enthusiasm was on display Sunday.

A small choir serenaded Clinton with a song about moving forward, rising up, and climbing higher mountains. “Hillary,” one verse went, “you’re still rising.” One speaker made a request for “when” she is president. Another outlined a justification for inducting her into the

National Voting Rights Museum Women’s Hall of Fame. Some wore T-shirts that said, “Hillary is my president.”

“She was elected president of the United States, and it was stolen from her,” said state Sen. Hank Sanders, as a breakfast crowd of about 700 rose to its feet. “It was stolen from her by the FBI. .?.?. It was stolen from her by the Russians.”
