Just switched my selection to Pete because he's for abolishing the electoral college

That's hands down my #1 issue. NONE of our goals will matter if we don't first get our electoral system under control. When a clown like trump can rule after losing by over 3 million votes, something is wrong. We're not a democracy, we're a joke!

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

It may be your number one issue but has little chance of becoming reality anytime soon.

They are concentrated in many of the least populous states. Thus, along with a heavy dose of voter suppression, a minority can control the dialogue and the agenda.

who hate that their votes don't count when it comes to the presidential election. It should be 1 person, 1 vote. Period.

What is it about his stance on this issue that makes him stand out in your view. Elizabeth was especially forceful in her denunciation of the EC.

if I had to choose between the two, it would be Pete. If Cory Booker ever gains momentum I'll switch back to him since he also supports it. I know that sounds horrible but I'm OK with switching back and forth between consensus candidates whose views are somewhat in alignment with mine.

But unlikely to become a reality.

You know what I think? Instead of working to eliminate the EC, we should instead work to make blue areas bluer and red areas purple then blue. Republicans have practiced the opposite through voter suppression. Super rich people on our side can do the bluer and red to blue push by investing in forward looking business startups in both blue states and areas of red and purple states that we want to become deep blue. Two perfect examples of where investment in new business made states bluer are Virginia and North Carolina, both states less that two decades ago were red bastions, now Virginia appears to be on it's way to irreversibly blue and North Carolina has become a purple state. Investment in red and purple areas will get us to where we want to be on the Electoral College faster that trying to change the Constitution will.

But increasing Democratic voters and working to end the inequities of the Electoral College are not mutually exclusive. We can and should do both. At least from my perspective, considering the leadership that would be provided by President Pete Buttigieg, a stronger Democratic Congress, and the desire of our citizens to have all their votes actually count.
