Wisconsin Republicans to challenge election delay in state's top court

op Wisconsin GOP lawmakers vowed to mount a legal challenge in the state’s Supreme Court over the Democratic governor’s postponement of Tuesday’s election.

Hours after Gov. Tony Evers (D) signed an executive order moving Tuesday's election to June 9 due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, the speaker of the Wisconsin State Assembly and Senate majority leader issued a joint statement announcing the forthcoming litigation.

“We are immediately challenging this executive order in the Wisconsin State Supreme Court. The clerks of this state should stand ready to proceed with this election. The governor's executive order is clearly an unconstitutional overreach,” wrote Speaker Robin Vos and Leader Scott Fitzgerald.

And they are counting on low turnout to shove a toxic right-wing judge onto the State Supreme Court. They know that if more people vote, they are more likely to lose.

Sick that they want this election to go forward!

to keep the vote count down!
They've got their minions all lined up and ready to vote for their "chosen" stooge - counting on "Corona-fear" and voter apathy/disgust to keep away those educated voters that have the good sense to know what's going on.
Lucky to have a Dem. Governor who has the smarts to shut down their un-democratic move.

I thought I got it all cleared up when another DUer explained it to me yesterday. But reading other posters here is now only making my confusion that much worse. Half you guys get pissed off when some Republicans try to delay the WI primary and the other half gets upset when they don't and push to proceed.

Wish Biden would just kick Bernie's ass in the Cheese State already so we can all move on to the next fiasco.

Joe Biden
