Wisconsin governor postpones Tuesday's election until June

(Reuters) - Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers on Monday postponed Tuesday’s primary election until June 9, citing the coronavirus outbreak.

“The bottom line is that I have an obligation to keep people safe, and that’s why I signed this executive order today,” Evers, a Democrat, said in a statement.

Both sides doubtless have briefs already prepared, and the courts could well before midnight, or even before dawn, come up with an injunction putting aside the Governor's order. That would not be desirable, but it is unfortunately far from impossible.

I am unsure what the composition of the highly partisanized state supreme court in Wisconsin is. It will be a straight party line vote, no concern for actual legality will be shown by either side. So a head count of Democrats and Republicans there will be not prediction, but prophecy.
