But the Neanderthal's will find a way to justify it.

Of course this Trumpian debacle is going to cost over $3 trillion when all is said and done, but hey, $200 million!

Someone is going to have to explain to the Trumptards that $3 trillion is a lot more than $200 million. Of course they'll never believe it, but someone should try.

I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being at least double that and may even hit $10 trillion before it's all said and done if the virus lingers long enough.

You gotta love Republican economics, boy. Kinda reminds me of when Goppers used to bitch during the Clinton years that it was costing us $1 billion a year to maintain a no-fly zone around Iraq. So what was their "solution"? Start a war that ended up costing us $2 trillion...not to mention 1000s of lives. We coulda maintained a no-fly zone for 2000 years!

Pubbies make certified morons look like Einsteins by comparison.

If that duration matches what China did, the country will be shut down a little under 3 months, trimming $5 trillion from GDP, that number does not include income support payments, medical cost that the government will have to eat, bailouts of various industries.

Trump takes great glee in being able to play with Trillions instead of mere billions.......a few deaths here or there, no big deal.
As has always been true in Trump's entire life, it's always someone else's money......This time it's the U.S. Taxpayers that are getting bent over. Duck All You Suckers that voted for him.......You are going to get screwed royal, just like us, and you don't even have the brains to realize it.....just wait a few more months.......

One person, who is extremely pleased with his puppet, is Putin.......

be run like a business. Trump eliminated a program. On the first pass at correcting the damage, the country will spend enough to fund the eliminated effort for 15,000 years. And the desperation spending is not done.

I wouldn't have enough digits on five hands and five feet to count the number of times some wonderkin higher executive has defunded a very effective effort because it "was not accomplishing anything". Working to prevent disaster is accomplishing a lot, IMO.

that it's hard to believe. Just 2 months before a new coronavirus spreads in Wuhan, a US program to detect new coronaviruses, based in a Wuhan lab, is scrapped.

What are the odds? But, if not coincidental, why?

We CANNOT allow this to be forgotten.

WHENEVER this finally ends, IMO, I hope we DO NOT fall back on that old default of "it's time to move on," or "we need to put all that behind us," or "we need to look forward, not backward," or "let's move forward, don't dwell on the past," "or "let's not waste time revisiting old things we can't change," or other "it's over, no need to dwell on this" blah-blah-blah'ing.

We WILL NOT be able to move forward to address what might happen in the future if we DO NOT review what we did on this, and what we didn't do on this, and what was good and what was bad and what worked and what didn't. We CANNOT afford to "just move along, let's not dwell on the past." When somebody dies of complicated or questionable causes, we don't just send 'em to the funeral parlor and be done with it. We do an autopsy, dammit! We're gonna need one HERE!

We had an after-the-fact commission on 9/11. And we needed one. It was absolutely urgent! We're WAY WAY WAY gonna need one here. Those who can be expected to try to defeat such an effort are A) human ostriches who'd just rather stick their heads in the sand and not be bothered with all this muss 'n' fuss; and B) weasels who want to escape any blame or accountability, and C) probably republi-CONS.

DON'T let 'em beat the rap! That goes DOUBLE for their "dear leader." NO. I take that back. DOUBLE-TIMES-DOUBLE! If this is being portrayed as a war, we already have nominees for the title of "war criminal".

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
