Republican pollster: Trump 48% - 46% Biden in Georgia (within M.O.E)

Within the margin of error and closing the gap. Our party hasn't carried Georgia since 1992 so this is a positive poll for us and alarm bells for the GOP. The poll was commissioned by Rep. Doug Collins so it's an insider poll and typically insider polls are more favorable to the party ordering it.

Joe Biden

Some folks think that Dems have a decent shot at winning GA this year. I'm not as optimistic as they are and would put them at the very bottom of the half dozen or so swing states that the Dems might flip. If they do vote blue in November then I will be pleasantly surprised.

Couldn't find any voter registration data on GA after a short search to see what the numbers of D's, R's and I's are...some states don't require people to specify party affiliation when registering and maybe GA is one of them. But I did find this that indicates at least things may very well be slowly swinging toward the Dems' favor...

Rise of young and diverse Georgia voters may influence 2020 elections

Really surprised to see that GA has automatic registration. That's not usually the case in red states where they've often taken active measures to suppress Democratic votes and not enhance them. Looks like the Goppers in Georgia fell asleep at the wheel on this one. Hope they don't wake up until it's too late.

You're a gambler! Nyet on 5-to-2 odds but I'll give you 2-to-1. Max allowable bet is 500 cyberdollars...cyber meaning not real bucks...LOL.

I ain't no damn casino, after all. Then again, my house is still open and theirs aren't.

So place yer bet and I'll be rooting that you end up a winner, winner, winner...Georgia chicken dinner.

Maybe we'll work up a list of our cyberbets around Halloween just for the fun of it.

Here's BB's Sports & Politics Book early betting take on the race as things currently stand. No odds yet posted because my oddsmaker heard me cough once last week and is now afraid to come anywhere near me. Since we ain't got no sports any more politics is the only game in town. I'm not gonna quibble about actual rankings within the subgroups...just showing which states are roughly where I think they are at the moment.

Slam Dunk
1 - PA
2 - MI

Probable
3 - NC
4 - AZ
5 - WI

Possible
6 - OH
7 - IA

Unlikely
8 - FL
9 - GA

No bets accepted from Nate Silver.

Counted cards, moved around casinos on the little islands in the Caribbean. Back then, down there, all the cards went down face up, so at a full table if you took the last seat, you saw four or five hands at once. It made up for the practice of stacking three or four decks together for the dealer. Don't put up too much money, staff doesn't have to notice, and somebody who's doing well in a modest way is nice to have around, makes people think they can win too. One place did notice, and I swear they fed me a cold deck --- half a dozen straight hands I got a ten, followed by something under five, and then a ten on the hit. The message was clear, and I never went back there. Glory days a long, long time ago....

I was in Chicago's Grant Park waiting for the results with the rest of the Obama crowd. When they called Georgia for McCain, my heart sunk. I truly believed that Obama would carry Georgia.

Now in 2020, it appears to be a more realistic possibility. It can happen. We just need to organize properly and never let up until the last vote is counted.

The media has completely obliterated the real record of HRC as a candidate. She was actually pretty good, especially when you take into account the way she was so thoroughly swift boated.

Had it not been for Comey's last minute antics I think that Georgia would have been close. Had it not been for the added efforts of Vladimir Putin I think she likely would have won Georgia. And had it not been for their manipulative stunts over the Summer, like the Comey press conference and the nonsense from Putin at the Democratic convention, I think she would have definitely won Georgia.

I absolutely support targeting Georgia in this election. It is certainly winnable, and we have two Senate races to win down there as well.

Declined

Stacey Abrams, nominee for Governor of Georgia in 2018 and former minority leader of the Georgia House of Representatives
Sherry Boston, DeKalb County District Attorney
Jason Carter, nominee for Governor of Georgia in 2014, former state senator, and grandson of former U.S. President Jimmy Carter
Stacey Evans, candidate for Governor of Georgia in 2018 and former state representative (running for state house)
Jen Jordan, state senator
Lucy McBath, incumbent U.S. Representative for Georgia's 6th congressional district (running for re-election)
Michelle Nunn, CEO of CARE USA and nominee for U.S. Senate in 2014
Mike Thurmond, DeKalb County chief executive, former Labor Commissioner of Georgia, and nominee for U.S. Senate in 2010[59]
Nikema Williams, state senator and Chair of the Georgia Democratic Party
Sally Yates, former United States Deputy Attorney General

And we have 3 candidates (below) who are stronger than any of the others running in the special election all competing for the other seat, so they cannibalise each other. And multiple turndowns from that list above are stronger than these three below as well. I so hope we do not get swept in both and lose a chance to flip TWO red seats. So disappointed Abrams did not run (unless she is Bidens VP which is what I have said should happen for a year plus now, regardless of who are nominee was going to be.) Same goes for Sally Yates. If they both had run, Yates versus Collins, Abrams versus Perdue (or vice versa), I think we would have had a GREAT chance to flip BOTH seats.

Sarah Riggs Amico, nominee for Lieutenant Governor of Georgia in 2018
Jon Ossoff, documentary filmmaker and nominee for Georgia's 6th congressional district in 2017
Teresa Tomlinson, former mayor of Columbus
