Sanders skips coronavirus stimulus vote for event with AOC, Omar, Tlaib

Sen. Bernie Sanders claims he’s too busy dealing with the coronavirus crisis to pull the plug on his ailing campaign — but when it came time to vote on a crucial, $1.8 trillion stimulus package Sunday night, the presidential wannabe was in Burlington, Vermont, holding a campaign event.

While the rest of the Senate hammered out the package into the early hours of Monday, Sanders was continuing his doomed White House bid with a virtual “coronavirus roundtable,” starring firebrand Reps. Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Sanders spent the first 30 minutes of the video hectoring his Senate colleagues over the bill, accusing Republicans of giving the Trump administration “a blank check to hand out corporate welfare.”

“I know some of my Republican colleagues are talking about a one-time, $1,000 payment,” he said, referring to the proposal to send direct checks to American families.

And his sheeple are totally oblivious to reality. VP Biden doesn’t need to stump and pander like BS is doing, because his campaign is not circling the drain.

....he's a PRIVATE citizen, he does not have any obligations on the floor of the Senate.

As it turns out, the only Senator who is not self-quarantined that missed last night's vote just happened to be in Washington this afternoon to participate in the SAME vote. So it wasn't important enough yesterday afternoon (which took place at the same time as his "round table" which didn't have any medical people involved and then his rock concert) but was important enough to be there today!

How interesting. It's not like he was one of several or one of many who missed the vote - he was one of ONE. All the other healthy Senators were able to vote, only he wasn't there to vote.

This is a man who wants to be President?

... I left mine as "undecided" after I voted and then my candidate dropped out.

Mainly because I've already voted in the primary, and it leaves the "internal DU poll" that is our primary preference less affected by someone like me, who has already had their primary say.

But also, because I'm gonna vote blue no matter who in November, so I figure no reason to immediately flag myself as "taking a side" and stirring crap. I'm on the side of the nominee, whoever that turns out to be.

I think he has only been able to pass about 2 Bill's that he introduced and if he cannot simply do a roll call amendment for his entire agenda. He is a complete non-factor when it comes to negotiating with people given that he is apt to grand stand like Ted Cruz.

Working on this bill and getting to do the rounds of the news shows and such would be great political coverage for him. This crisis seems made for him to talk about his favorite issues. He's not the oldest Democratic in congress. Something is a bit fishy here.
