.... but I get the feeling this last debate will be Bernie's Swan Song. It'll be his last chance to hog the lime light, tell us how sick and tired he is, wave his arms and poke at the "establishment." I think he knows it's over, but wants to frame his exit. I think he will lose Arizona to boot. GO Mark Kelly.

Every time he claims victory in the face of clear defeat, he only destroys his credibility further. This process takes Bernie in the direction of eventually running out of all credibility and relevance. It's likely, depending on how he comes across in the next debate, that Bernie will accelerate this process to the point of no return.

He seems to want to press on, in hopes of having some clout at the convention, as he did in 2016. I don't think that's going to work, though, in 2020.

He's going to lose most primaries from now on massively, I believe. The voters have moved on. He is just banging his head against the ceiling that has always been there this year. It was masked by voters choosing other candidates in a multi-candidate race. Someone pointed out that 40% of the mail-in ballots in Washington state were for candidates other than Bernie and Biden. That will no longer be the case in upcoming primaries.

So, Sanders will get his 30-something percent, which is his ceiling, and Biden will get the rest. Actually, his ceiling is likely to drop below 30% if momentum holds for Joe.

How long will Sanders stick to it? I don't know. Maybe up to the beginning of the convention. I fully expect Biden to have a majority of pledged delegates by then. Further, delegates pledged to candidates no longer running may switch to Biden on the first ballot, which would make his majority even larger. I'm not quite sure what the convention rules will be for delegates pledged to withdrawn candidates.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

How humiliating will it be to do his last spiel, and then get swept. What message does that send about the importance of his "movement." Does it make him more irrelvant?

I have no way to know that. It takes a lot of chutzpah to run for President. He might have enough of that to be able to internally dismiss disappointment. Or not. I cannot know.

As for his "movement," it really isn't his, in the end. The leftmost end of the political spectrum exists independently of candidates, really. It's always there. That small segment of this country has adopted Bernie Sanders as its representative, but the adoption isn't final yet.

Part of that segment, when it comes to voting, will stay away from the polls or vote for whatever third party candidate is out there. They think it is a protest vote, but it's really a vote against their own principles. Some people do not vote rationally.

for rallies...my big sis and her friends used to walk out of class...a signal would be given somehow and everyone would get up and walk out...for whatever protest there was mostly just sitting around and getting high...it is sort of the same thing with Sanders...and that is why they don't show up at the polls. I was so jealous...by the time I came around...walking out of class would mean suspension and maybe expulsion.

Friday before Election Day. So the last day of early voting here in Florida was yesterday. Voting actually started on March 2, the day before Super Tuesday. Biden should have gotten a big lift in Florida early voting because almost all of it occurred after all candidates that endorsed him had dropped out (the exception was Bloomberg, who dropped out on Match 4).
