Biden and Sanders cancel election night rallies after coronavirus reported in Ohio
CLEVELAND — The campaigns of 2020 Democrats Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders have nixed their primary night events in Cleveland, Ohio, due to the coronavirus.
Out of concern for public health and safety, we are canceling tonight's rally in Cleveland," Sanders spokesman Mike Casca wrote in a statement Tuesday afternoon.
Casca added, "We are heeding the public warnings from Ohio state officials, who have communicated concern about holding large, indoor events during coronavirus outbreak."
All future events "will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis," Casca said.
