I was seriously on the fence until then. I could’ve easily voted for him but he lost FL when he did that.

He didn’t build the necessary coalition to win this thing. He’s pretty stubborn which is good in many situations but not good when trying to run for a position where governing with compromise is required.

He could have said "I disagree with democratic leaders and more moderate democrats in these areas, ..........., but, make no mistake, the democratic leaders and voters that don't fully agree with me want what is best for America, and so do I.
