Now we know why Harris waited to endorse Joe

Why Kamala Harris waited for Warren to exit the race before endorsing Biden

“I had two women colleagues in the race, and I did not feel right putting my thumb on the scale [that] in any way would harm their candidacy,” Harris said, referring to Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.). Both ended their campaigns last week. “So, when Elizabeth announced that she was getting out of the race, I let Joe know that I would endorse him.”

Classy move.

I love it when women have each other's backs. It's not necessary for women to always endorse other women candidates. But it's important for them to make sure they don't undermine each other.
If I were to vote in a presidential

And can you imagine what they would have done to Harris, Warren and Klobuchar had Harris endorsed Biden while Warren and Klobuchar were still in the race? We would have been bombarded with 24/7 coverage of why a female candidate "dissed" the other women and how that meant Warren and Klobuchar didn't have what it takes to be president.

But when the writing was on the wall, I picked Joe, and hoped he would pick one of the three for VP. Harris would be my first choice (because I think she would bring in a lot of minorities to the ticket. and because I think she would clean Pence's clock in debate), but I will gladly take any of them!

Harris for AG and Klobuchar for VP.

I'm thinking Kamala would be just the kind of law enforcement chief that would rip out your spine and show it to you. There are a lot of people in this administration alone (starting with Mr. Trump and Mr. Barr) that need that treatment.

But I'm ahead of myself again...let's get a nominee first and then beat the brakes off Mr. Trump once and for all....

To ensure a landslide victory.

But, no matter who he picks for AG, that person needs to IMMEDIATELY set up a task force to PROSECUTE the entire Doturd family and every Repuke who criminally supported him.

Barr, Moscow Mitch, Leningrad Lindsey, Dobiina Devin, and the ENTIRE WH staff that enabled this criminal enterprise.

We must BLEACH the entire political system. THEN, and ONLY THEN, can we proceed to repair our nation from the damage inflicted upon us by the most incompetent, idiotic ASSHOLE in human history.

It’s part of a new game I play - who of the former candidates should do what in a New Democratic administration? In this case, for me, it’s a presumed Biden administration. And where would I put Mayor Pete? Where are his talents best used in the overall shared mission to serve the greater good?

If Kamala Harris isn’t VP, I’d make her AG. I’d use her somehow if she were willing, because California’s true blue and we wouldn’t lose that seat in the Senate. She’d inevitably be replaced by another Democrat.

Jay Inslee’s at Interior. Bloomberg in Commerce or maybe Treasury. I’ve heard some suggestions that Elizabeth Warren should be at Treasury. But shit, she’s an educator too. Or - Maybe at Education? Andrew Yang for Commerce Secretary, with his creative thinking on ways to stimulate the economy?

Thinking about it a lot. I’m torn between elevating Elizabeth Warren and Amy Klobuchar to Cabinet level and leaving them in charge in the Senate where they already have more stature.

We have what some might say is an embarrassment of riches.

I do want Harris as AG.

I feel we new a younger person as VP than Warren but I really like her and she might help unite the party, especially if Biden made some appropriate moves to expand health coverage, even it is is not Medicare for All. I think Warren would eat Pence's lunch in a debate. Not sure Klobuchar could do it as well. We do need a woman as the VP candidate, for sure.

I thought that Pete might be good in the Senate.

Classy continues to be a thread in my encounters with Senator Harris....

The young staff that came to Iowa became our friends and meshed into our lives (and still are), and my peeps fought over picking up their check(s) when they would join us at our favorite restaurants....

On an evening drive home from Kansas City just before Thanksgiving, my cellphone rang.... a # not in my contacts, but it said San Francisco, so I answered.... "Hello, Frank speaking," "Frank, it's Kamala Harris, and I just wanted to call and thank you for all you've done for me, and to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving".... after establishing she and Doug were safe in a DesMoines area hotel just prior to an impending blizzard that I was attempting to elude, she shared the delight of preparing Thanksgiving food for the staff...

Two weeks later a somewhat surprise campaign suspension, understanding but crestfallen, I contacted our favorite staffers... "Frank, do not worry about us... we are all good, we have been paid well, and are paid through the month"

as I love KH.
But isn't that statement, by definition, about as sexist as you can get? Her support was seemingly entirely predicated on the sex of the candidates. Imagine had she stated she would not endorse anyone until all the POC candidates had dropped out?
Just think a statement like that probably should not be publicly aired.

Given that she is a member of two very much suppressed groups of people, I'm giving her some latitude... in much the same as I generally continue to be in favor of 'affirmative action.'

The goal is equality, and we, as a nation, still have some distance to travel.

I probably won't live to see the day when differences are fully and naturally embraced and celebrated, rather than treated as reasons for division. That day may never come, but I will do my part as best as I can to make it so.

She didn't refrain out of any animus toward the women or any belief they were less qualified than the men running. She held her fire because she knows how sexist this country is and how much damage her endorsement of a man would do to the women running.

And I'm sure that had there still been anyone of color in the race, she would have done the same thing for the same reason.

Her statement is a condemnation of sexism rampant in the society she's operating in, not a reflection of her.

She has direct, recent experience with the Justice Department. Kamala Harris has never been part of it, and we will need someone who can immediately clean it up.

I'd rather see Harris as VP, which would give her the inside track on becoming the next president.

the candidates. Sorry.

We need to have each other’s backs even when we don’t agree!

My best friend voted for Trump despite knowing he is a narcissist and a racist and a misogynist.

She is now divorcing her extremely narcissistic husband who is also a racist and a misogynist.

I got HER BACK! Always. No matter what.
