But no candidate has reversed themselves as suddenly and jarringly as Bloomberg. He has flip-flopped on the stop and frisk law enforcement practice, raising the minimum wage, and financial sector regulation. He has also issued policies that contradict or obscure his past positions on Social Security and marijuana legalization. The result ― it is increasingly unclear what Bloomberg actually believes and what he will do if he wins the Democratic Party presidential nomination and then the White House.

In other words all those who think this guy is the answer, the truth is we don't know what he will do. His answers at the debate show he hasn't really changed on his past sexist comments or racist policies. He may continue to fund republicans against Democrats. We do know that every step he has taken has been to ensure greater power and wealth for himself - yes even his charitable contributions have laid the groundwork for his rise to power.

(7,529 posts)As were his answers at the debate and his current stances. But some don't care about that, or his past comments and actions. They "just want to win" even though nothing shows he is the best or even only one who can beat drumpf.

(7,529 posts)Money plays a role for sure but it usually means a candidate is getting donations based on performance and growing support, not because they are astro-turfing the nomination process.

(7,529 posts)I'm not a Bernie supporter but his policies are much more in line with the Democratic party than a guy who funds repubs with millions of dollars and could very well do so in the future.

(4,959 posts)and the debate proved it. He couldn't even fake it.
I respect a candidate who remains principled but whose positions evolve as conditions change. And I can apply that statement to pretty much everyone on the ballot except Bloomberg.
