Van Jones made a questionable claim on Real Time

Last edited Sat Feb 15, 2020, 12:23 PM - Edit history (1)

that the DNC rigged the 2016 primary. While it was shown that some had a bias for Clinton, I don’t recall there ever being ever evidence of them taking any action to rig the outcome. Is there?

Here is a link to his comments:
https://www.mediaite.com/tv/van-jones-democratic-leaders-cannot-step-in-and-try-to-derail-bernie-this-time-let-our-voters-vote/

What is he talking about?

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Are run by the states not the DNC. The DNC had very little influence on the voters. They were basically broke. They never ran any ads or anything like that for Hillary or against Bernie. Bernie I am pretty sure had more money than Hillary. Hillary received almost 4 million more votes. No one has ever explained to me how it was rigged? They just make the claim without any details.

... Trump and FOX, and they are saying it's being rigged again. Bernie is doing well, though, and IA (caucus) and NH (area) going first favors him... it's not rigged as much as it's him getting an advantage because it's there; any candidate would be happy ... but back to the point - this is really a Trump/FOX propaganda story, imo...

Here is what happened. Bernie made no effort to appeal to black voters, black voters voted for Hillary in droves, Sanders lost end of story. To his credit, Sanders seems to have internalized that lesson to a decent extent with somewhat different results in terms of polling.
