Forward Opinion Column: "Bernie Sanders' shocking hypocrisy"

....In both the 2016 and in 2020 races, Sanders criticized Democrats Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden for their support of the draconian 1994 crime bill that led to much of America’s mass incarceration. “While @HillaryClinton was campaigning for mass incarceration in the crime bill, Bernie spoke against it,” he tweeted in April 2016.

He voted for the bill and in 1995 pushed to make penalties in it stronger.

When Kamala Harris went on the offensive in the first debate attacking Joe Biden’s former position on busing, many Sanders surrogates began to echo the attacks. Sanders’s campaign heavily criticized Biden on busing, going so far as to say that Biden didn’t want black children around white children.

What the campaign failed to mention was that Bernie held the same position as Biden on busing in the 1970s.....

"Trump represents the dark path of racism, nationalism and division; Bernie represents the other path, of socialism, multiculturalism and solidarity. The Democratic establishment, left over from a political era they don’t know has already disappeared, imagines that a Biden or a Bloomberg or a Buttigieg might be able to keep the whole structure from falling apart. But they’re wrong. America has already started down a path away from what got us here. The only question is which path that will be."

These media sources have a slight to moderate liberal bias. They often publish factual information that utilizes loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes) to favor liberal causes. These sources are generally trustworthy for information, but may require further investigation. See all Left-Center sources.

Factual Reporting: HIGH
Country: USA
World Press Freedom Rank: USA 48/180

Notes: The Forward, formerly known as The Jewish Daily Forward, is an American magazine published monthly in New York City for a Jewish-American audience. The Forward covers international and national news as well as stories of interest to the Jewish-American communities. In reviewing articles, there is minimal use of emotional language and all stories are sourced to credible outlets. In reporting there is a left leaning bias in story selection. They also failed a fact check that was corrected.

Overall, this is a factual source that has a left center bias in reporting. (1/20/2017) Updated (D. Van Zandt 7/26/2019)

Smooth Kobra looks exactly like the pic of Marcus H. Johnson that 86 provided. They're even wearing the exact same clothes. And the pics were, somehow, taken in the exact same spot. And the college information matches up between accounts.

At some point, things stop becoming a coincidence.

Seriously though. One was the old personal account, the other the professional account. The personal account got trash canned by Twitter once people started reporting a lot of his old posts, and he switched over full time to the professional account. He's not the first one to have multiple twitter accounts, and he's not the first one who'd rather not be haunted by his past comments.

As I'm quite certain you already know. On the off chance you don't already know it there is nothing you could be shown that you would accept as proof. No matter what I posted here you would say it's fake, doesn't prove anything etc etc etc.

This is why I'm not going to bother linking anything. There is zero point in doing so.

I thought, we were all supposed to be against TRUMP?
I thought, "Unity"!
I thought, "No bashing fellow Ds"

Seems that none of this holds true in many cases.
Tulsi was deemed a non D for some reason, so bashing was ok!
Now, I guess Bernie is also a non D, even though he has run in 2 D primaries,
votes with the D caucus, and campaigned for HRC in 2016 after her nomination.
Seems that does not count.

Everyone criticized Bernie supporters for Not voting HRC in 2016, or voting 3rd party.
Seems to me that we have not even reached Iowa yet and a lot of folks would rather
vote Trump, stay home, or whatever... If in the off chance Bernie were to get the nomination!?!

Are folks more afraid of a candidate who is left in the spectrum than they are Donald J. Trump?

I am undecided as to who I will vote for. I admit I do lean more left than most.
But, I am seeing a rather vicious panic that someone who is not part of the "mainstream",
"establishment", "centrist", part of the party getting momentum is causing a lot of hypocrisy.
(Don't try to be cute by half and ask what is meant by the above in quotes. We're all intelligent
folks and understand the common definition of these things.)

Are we against Trump, or loss of internal power/control, status quo?

I'm well aware that in a few seconds I'm going to be bombarded by "He's not a D", and "I'm a troll",
and God knows what other BS.... But, is this still the party of FDR and Johnson who gave us the social
safety net, and care for the working class, or are we something else now?

Is this the party of "we can't do that", "It costs too much", and "let's not be bold"... Why not!?!

There is only 2 ways you can vote in the House and Senate...
With the GOP, or the Ds...

Now ur just pulling it out of ur butt!

He votes with the D caucus....
If you have a list of times he voted Against the D majority on various bills.

has voted against the D majority.

Would like to see that vast disparity you are promoting, and on what bills.

Thank You

When, where, and how did Bernie attack the D party?

This is news to me?

I'm not a Bernie supporter, but I do feel obliged to speak for fairness, and truth.

I'm constantly amazed by the tonnage of negativism thrown at Warren and Sanders
by a very frightened Status Quo!

Just curious.

I am disgusted... It's the tactics and the attacks on solid Democrats

You say you want a revolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
You tell me that it's evolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
But when you talk about destruction
Don't you know that you can count me out
Don't you know it's gonna be
All right, all right, all right
You say you got a real solution
Well, you know
We'd all love to see the plan
You ask me for a contribution
Well, you know
We're doing what we can
But if you want money for people with minds that hate
All I can tell is brother you have to wait
Don't you know it's gonna be
All right, all right, all right
You say you'll change the constitution
Well, you know
We all want to change your head

Thus the large majority of his statements differentiating his history from those of his Democratic colleagues' are documented to be untrue and could be characterized as hypocritical and dishonest, also possibly delusional since he seems to believe them.

Bottom line is, every lie a politician tells is an attempted betrayal. People who lie a lot, knowingly or unknowingly, are always running for office, usually at much lower levels of course, but they fail quickly with honest people who won't tolerate it.

That's usually society's protection because truth goes mainstream, but the internet's enabled end runs around truth and much of what really is a common wisdom. It's also enabled just looking up statements to see if they're true, though. A little personal litmus test so to speak.

just by registering. Or by self identifying. And that's mostly good.

I recognize that he is running on the Democratic Party list of candidates but pay him the courtesy of not calling him a Democrat since I'm well aware of I-Sanders' decades-long proud insistence that he is not "a Democrat," you know one of us corrupt Tweedledums to the Republicans' Tweedledees.

Perverse dissonance, perhaps, but imo respect for the man's wishes is best paid by considering him a paper Democrat but never insulting him by regarding him as the real thing, even if he does vote with the Democrats over 95% of the time. If he wanted to change his pronoun to "her" to pick up more women's votes, I'd respect that wish also.
