So, if you have stopped watching the news on the broadcast networks,

you might not have noticed this, but Bloomberg is advertising heavily on them. His ads are very professional, avoid controversy, and are attacking Trump, not other primary candidates.

If you don't watch those networks, you're not seeing them. But, guess what? CBS, NBC, and ABC, along with the Fox broadcast TV network have viewers. Tons of viewers. During their morning, evening and bedtime news broadcasts, any one of them has more viewers for straight news than all of the cable news programs combined. Any one of them.

All those folks get their news that way, and they're seeing Bloomberg ads as they do.

You're not paying attention to the Bloomberg ads, but a helluva lot of people are seeing those well-produced ads every day. That's why Bloomberg is creeping up in the polls and has recently passed by Pete Buttigieg on his way. Who will he pass next? Probably Elizabeth Warren, who's having trouble keeping up with Biden and Sanders just now.

Many of us here on DU have cut the cord and never watch network broadcast news. It's just another way that we're not like a lot of other people, who still watch those news programs every day. Sometimes twice or three times a day. They're also watching Bloomberg ads. Many are finding them interesting and compelling, too.

Bloomberg is even buying ad time for the Superbowl, which most of us won't watch, either.

I watch the broadcast network news, for both a national news summary and my local news. I watch it on CBS in the morning and around the dinner hour. On weekends, I watch the ABC news broadcasts. I'm seeing a lot of Bloomberg ads. I'm a Biden supporter, as you can see below, but I'm seeing those Bloomberg ads, too.

Bloomberg is focusing on the Super Tuesday states, while everyone else is hanging by their fingernails trying to guess how the four earlier primary events will turn out. He's not playing in the early primary states. He doesn't think they matter much. I'm also focused on all those delegates who will be allocated from the Super Tuesday states. I also don't think the four earlier states will matter much, really, except maybe for South Carolina, which holds its primary just before Super Tuesday.

I know that everyone will shift their attention soon to those states, but they're the ones I'm watching right now.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

....allow local cable companies to run local ads a certain number of times a day.

The Bloomberg ads have been on CNN here, a couple a day.

That's why. There are Democrats in Oklahoma, although they don't win a lot of elections. There is still a Democratic presidential primary in Oklahoma and other red states, too.

that happens to include Oklahoma. For example, St. Louis probably includes Tulsa area at least. And Tulsa is relatively blue for OK, and the Dems there probably appreciate not being totally ignored.

I dunno. I remember seeing the first one, and I thought, geez, for all the money that guy has, it was pretty cheesy: an amalgam of still images with a voice-over. Of course, he's wasn't holding town halls or public events to garner video from so that's probably all there was, but nonetheless, meh.

And then last night, I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth when a Bloomberg ad (this time with his voice) came on during Colbert. I came out and said to my husband, "was that a satire or a real thing?" He informed me it was a real ad. If you have to ask the question whether it was a joke ad or a real one (at least without the pictures to view), I wonder.

I disapprove vigorously of the tactic of campaigning by TV alone. It's lazy, and affordable only to the zillionaires. That said, there are many persuadable people out there, who only watch TV. Go figure.

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Mr Poo prefers just plain old regular old fashioned teevee! We see Bloomberg ads all of the time. And I mean a lot!! And they are well done and he comes across as an appealing candidate with good ideas and I think people are wanting to hear that right now. In my opinion it wouldn’t be far-fetched to see him edge out Bernie. I guess time will tell.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
