A Buttigieg supporter on how moved she was by Biden's appearance on Morning Joe today

Two-tweet thread starting here, full text below:

1/ Everyone knows that Pete is my chosen candidate, but listen. Listening to Joe Biden on Morning Joe was comforting. As a grieving mother, I often can’t put into words what that pain feels like. It’s heavy. Joe can put perfect words on this pain. His emotions are a connecting...

2/... bridge to Americans not matter your ideology. I’ll never forget this moment. People don’t only vote for who they are most aligned politically. They vote for who makes them feel something. Feel hopeful. Feel seen. Biden is in a league of his own in this.

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

And the juxtaposition with Trump. Just like this morning when Sanders came up. Essentially Joe says Sanders apologized and he has let it go. Trump would never have done that.

Joe has shown he is compassionate but can still be tough.

This is Joe Biden's secret weapon: his basic decency and ability to empathize with people, all kinds of people. And when it comes to grief and loss? There's no one better because he's been there, done that.

After 3+ years of Trump's cruel mouth and actions, Joe Biden is like a long-needed salve to the heart and soul.

People may scoff at that ability to reach out or think it's silly, superficial. But being able to read others on on emotional level is a gift, far easier said than done. It's an ability you can't fake, an emotional intelligence you either have or you don't.

Joe Biden is the genuine article. And people respond to that.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
