Sanders surges in new nationwide CNN poll

Poitico

The poll found that 27 percent of registered Democrats or Democratic-leaning independents said they would support Sanders.

Bernie Sanders’ standing with voters nationwide surged, with a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS showing that the Vermont senator has now joined Joe Biden at the top of the Democratic presidential field.

Among Democrats or Democratic-leaning independents who are registered to vote, 27 percent said they would support Sanders for the Democratic nomination, compared to Biden polling at 24 percent. The difference among the two candidates falls within the margin of error, so there is no clear leader in the poll.

This is the first CNN poll where Biden wasn’t the solo candidate on top. Sanders has gained 7 points since CNN’s last poll in December, the greatest surge among the candidates.

Both Biden and Sanders polled well ahead of other contenders like Elizabeth Warren at 14 percent and Pete Buttigieg at 11 percent. Michael Bloomberg’s support was at 5 percent.

For the Sanders supporters - in some states with closed Primaries you need to make sure they have to be registered as Democratics.

'Cause millennials are stupid and just want free stuff.

Pro tip: When one espouses attitudes like this, one should not be surprised when people the attitude is aimed at don't feel like they are needed/wanted.

And, for the record, when one person is saying they need help, it's pretty shitty and unprogressive to say "No, because there are other people that tangentially similar that need help." Address the call for help on the merits of the call for help. My son graduated college with no debts because my wife and I were able to cover it in addition to scholarships he got (his sister has some debt due to a semester abroad and grad school, but nowhere near the average student debt). I'm fine with not getting any money back for paying for my son's college if we forgive student loans because I was able to do it. Others aren't. And what we have done to the cost of education and the loan process overall is deplorable.

But, yeah, they want a Ferrari, for fuck's sake.

as I explain here:

And two other national polls today show Biden ahead (one with Warren in second place), and 3 out of 4 state polls today (including Ohio and Pennsylvania) have Biden leading, with Biden ahead by double digits in OH and PA.
