"At the rally in Conway on Sunday, Klein espoused confidence that Sanders will win the Democratic nomination and ultimately defeat Trump in November.

"It's going to be the most epic case of moral whiplash the world has ever seen," Klein said. "And it's going to inspire people around the world to find their own survival instinct and act like the house is on fire—because it is."

Translations -

Moral whiplash: Nothing on google.

Survival instinct: An episode of Star Trek Voyager.

Act like the house is on fire - paraphrasing Greta Thunberg; panic.

I had another who probably was cranky, but he died when I was pretty young. The thing is that he was crazy, hated FDR with a passion, and bigoted against most minorities. His politics might have aligned with Hitler and Mussolini.

He ended up hanging himself, but never heard any details of the why. It's a subject of much speculation between me, my sister and my cousins to this day.

"And this continues to be the big difficulty for Sanders. He was actually asked at the debate how exactly he would enact Medicare for All.

"I will tell you how we'll do it," Sanders said. "We'll do it the way real change has always taken place, whether it was the labor movement, the civil rights movement, or the women's movement. We will have Medicare for All when tens of millions of people are prepared to stand up and tell the insurance companies and the drug companies that their day is gone, that health care is a human right, not something to make huge profits off of."

That's a really good way to explain how people who support Medicare for All can lobby for it. But it does very little to answer the question of how he'd actually do it."

https://www.cnn.com/2019/06/28/politics/bernie-sanders-2020-democratic-debate-medicare-for-all/index.html

See the bolded section, that there is bullshit. So the Bernie 'doesn't do bullshit,' is bullshit. He does bullshit because the non-bullshit answer to 'how exactly he would enact Medicare for All' would be: "I can't enact Medicare for All under current Senate rules."

meaningless smalltalk, even those who verge on the anti-social because they are single-minded in
their solitary mission. Such eccentric cranks make the world go round and sometimes find a following of the like-minded.

But these offbeat personalities, proud to be intolerant of social niceties, happy with their own prickly temperament, are not well-suited to be the president of the United States—to unify, to negotiate, to lead the many pedestrian souls who do, in fact, take the time to say good morning and happy birthday, as they do not consider themselves too exalted for the small exchanges that smooth the way in daily life.

The fact that Sanders would think this demonstration of grump-chic a winning look is
amazing. Not sure why he bothered to include two African Americans who look like they can barely
tolerate him.

Things were grim because those people were not buying it. This guy goes up there and runs this garbage past them:

"He promises that once in office, a groundswell of support will emerge to push through his agenda."

That's straight-up demagogue. "A leader who makes use of false claims and promises in order to gain power."

I don’t dispute some of what he said but making the case that being poor and not heard and economically held down makes you susceptible to 45’s brand of hate mongering is a hard sell to black folks.

I feel like everything we think we can be rests on this next election.

Tue Jan 21, 2020, 08:35 AM

and this is typical illustration of how he thinks and what he cares about. And doesn't.

People need to understand that Sanders has a giant revolution to do, dammit, and he's devoted the last 40 years of his life to nothing but. Those who think he's always been all talk and privilege miss the point that it's been such enormously important talk that it leaves no time for anything else.
