Sun Mar 31, 2019, 03:29 AM
Mar 2019

by certain individuals involved in Bernie's campaign? I know, an inconvenient truth that makes her MORE credible regarding her own accusations against Joe, despite having once been a Bernie supporter. BUT, she dared to say it wasn't Bernie's fault!! OMG, let's throw out the entire #MeToo movement over BERNIE... she must be a LIAR!! I mean, REALLY, how can anyone who doesn't believe Bernie is at fault for OTHERS' behavior have been a TRUE victim herself?

Surely, you know how illogical that sounds... so, just admit the facts you conveniently left out. Yes, imagine THAT... let's be fair and consider ALL the facts, including allowing Joe ample opportunity to SPEAK FOR HIMSELF, not through intermediaries, and splain what happened. Joe, absolutely, should NOT be Frankened. Perhaps, there are witnesses who saw for themselves the unwanted touching that took place, or were told, contemporaneously, by Flores about what happened, OR saw and heard NOTHING untoward take place, and, thus, can also shed some light on the events of that day.

How is that not fair to everyone involved and, equally important, to the American people who must vote for our party's nominee? Right, the answer's obvious: that IS fair... so why not do that?! What are people afraid of?? The truth?!

I'm fine with it... yes, even as a Bernie supporter, if after examining all the facts, Joe is completely absolved of any wrongdoing and he enters the 2020 race... indeed, I hope that IS the case, for his sake, as Joe seems like a fine man who deserves another shot at the presidency.

She WAS on the Board of Our Revolution, indicating to everyone that she was closely closely associated with the Sanders, and she was an outspoken surrogate for Sanders.

So, connecting the dots....

She was a surrogate for Sanders
She was on the Board of Our Revolution

No, Biden didn't say the incident didn't happen but he also said to the effect, he didn't remember that specific incident (I'd be more specific about how he put it but if I leave out a word or to you'd say "see, you were wrong!&quot .

The fact is her story changed between the release of the article and her appearance on CNN yesterday, and she hardly looked upset with him minutes after the so-called incident. The sequence of recent events are just too convenient.

By the way, I and many others didn't even know her connection to Sanders or his campaign when this first came out when people started questioning the credibility of the story, we all just thought she was a Nevada Democrat. It was only as people started talking about it that her very close connections with Sanders came out.

Are you denying that she wasn't/isn't closely involved with the Sanders campaign and organization?

You love drilling it in when people are, in your eyes, "wrong" (i.e., only 99% accurate), but I have yet to see you own up to anything you've said that was "wrong" or "inaccurate".

Was her name listed as a Board Member on the Our Revolution website?
Is her name now listed as a Board Member on the Our Revolution website?

So, why claim Flores is still a Board member? It's obvious the implications you and others are trying to draw.

But then, why not also admit the inconvenient truth that Flores recently attended a Beto rally?! So, maybe it's BETO who's behind this secret plot to take down Joe before he even enters the 2020 race!! Applying the newly-minted "Bernie standard," that's the only logical conclusion. Oh wait, it's called the "Bernie standard" for a reason... it only applies to Bernie. Nevermind!!

I've attended rallies for candidates running against my candidate, indeed when a candidate was running against me in a local election.

What's up with all these "standards" that you establish. First there was the "Kamala standard", then the "#NotMeToo standard", and now the "Bernie standard".

that led to sexual harassment and that escalated to sexual violence? Was she on the campaign last time around? Why did it take an exposé for anyone to acknowledge the problem? What about those victims?

Granted, "unwanted touching" is a genuine problem, but to ignore allegations of "sexual violence" is unconscionable.

How can Flores support a candidate whose leadership was so remiss as to enable sexual violence to repeatedly occur, simply because BS had no idea of what was going on in his own campaign?

Mar 2019

in speaking up.

https://knpr.org/knpr/2017-12/lucy-flores-kihuen-harassment-and-why-she-speaks-out

re: Carmona:

When former Sanders staffer Masha Mendieta published a piece on Medium on March 31, 2017, Flores said she felt she had to speak out to support the woman who leveled the accusations because she didn't want to leave her feeling alone. Subsequent to that, many women contributed to a piece in which other women spoke of their own dealings with Carmona.

“The first thing that everybody said, I don’t mean everybody but a lot of people said, is of course that she was lying and that it was politically motivated. Which, of course, makes talking about sexism and sexual harassment within the campaign world very, very difficult because that’s the first thing that everybody is going to say - that everything you’re saying is politically motivated,” Flores said.

The former assemblywoman said that is why it can be much more difficult to address sexual harassment and sexism in general in the political world. Especially since sexism, itself, isn't illegal.

And, she says, sexism and harassment are pervasive in the political circles she has traveled in.

This is the same woman who backed up claims by some on Bernie's prior campaign who complained of harrassment. Seems like that would now make her own claims even MORE credible. But, nooooo... it's an evil plot to now HELP Bernie defeat Joe.

I actually like Joe as a person - though not fond of his moderate political positions - and I do hope he comes through this unscathed and runs in 2020. It would help, however, if Joe spoke publicly about this. He deserves to be heard, in response to a credible claim of unwanted touching, rather than being Frankened. We have to be fair to all those involved... and to the voters who must decide which Democrat has the best chance of going to go up against, and defeating, the Pussy-Grabber-in-Chief.

And the person chosen to come out with this just happens to have been a Sanders supporter last time around and a member of the Board of Sanders' organization, Our Revolution.

Plus the so-called incident happened at the side of the stage where all the speakers had lined up to be announced, in front of hundreds of people.

I don't buy it.

It's all too fishy to me - the timing of the three things I mentioned, the fact that it occurred at the side of a crowded stage (did you read her article in The Cut?) and no one else saw it?

Once in 2014 during her candidacy as Lieutenant Governor and again in 2016 for Representative.

Interestingly, when harassment allegations surfaced in 2017 against Ruben Kihuen, her opponent in the 2016 primary, she had zero problems speaking out about his harassment then:

https://knpr.org/knpr/2017-12/lucy-flores-kihuen-harassment-and-why-she-speaks-out

Over the weekend, former state Assemblywoman Lucy Flores – who ran against Kihuen in the 2016 Congressional primary – told Politico that she wasn’t surprised by the allegations.

Flores told KNPR's State of Nevada that she has known Kihuen for years and even attended high school with him.

“What I personally witnessed are many times he was inappropriately too close – in particular – to young women,” she said.

She said it was well known in the political arena she and Kihuen shared, but it was brushed off as "Ruben being Ruben." But, she said, that idea that it is just 'men being men' or 'boys will be boys' is part of the problem.

But the 2016 Sanders campaign, where she got his endorsement, and he hers? Even contemporaneous knowledge of harassment was not enough to get her to speak up--until others did in her stead.

I'm not sure how much work she did to get Hillary elected. But she wasn't endorsing Stein.

Here's an except from an article about her support:

Lucy Flores, a former assemblywoman who ran for congress as a pro-Sanders candidate, said the joinder was inevitable and much needed to focus on Trump.

“Most Democrats and most people realize Donald Trump as president is something we cannot allow to happen,” said Flores, who plans to support Clinton. “The man is destructive and he is probably the worst thing that could happen to this country, and that’s not rhetoric or inflammatory by any means.”

If she felt so uncomfortable, why didn't she come forward in 2014? 2015? 2016? 2017? 2018?

She never told anyone about being uncomfortable contemporaneously.

She comes forward now with perfect timing, seeing that Biden is killing Bernie in the polls. Surprise surprise.

Then she lied about what she told her friend -- the friend came out saying she was lying.

Most Democrats have had it with Bernie and Sirota's dirty tricks.

going on and on about Bernie Sanders, his campaign, his staffers, or whatever. As if anything about them changed anything about the reality of rest. It doesn't.

You[i] could--if you were interested in the truth--google Biden and his past behavior. And then, once you had the facts, you could decide if they mattered enough to you to change your opinion of him as a candidate.

But denying reality, whether it's about a candidate you like, or don't like, is a self-defeating proposition. It sets you--all of us really--up for ton of comeuppance.

Do whatever you want. But don't bother me any more with "what about Bernie?"

I worked both 08 and 12 Obama campaigns in Ohio. He doesn't sexual harass anyone. This is a GOP meme borrowed by a Sanders partisan. Biden is a gentleman always. And kissing babies and hugging is politics. Her story is falling apart as we speak. Me too should not be used as a weapon against political opponents because you are down in the polls or what have you.

But this is not something the GOP made up, or a Sanders partisan "borrowed". It is a thing. It has been a thing for a long time. A very respected poster on this very site has extensive and specific knowledge of the pattern, and has said so in great detail just a day or two ago.

https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=11972355 post #9

Now, that poster calls Biden a great politician and says his politics are bang on. But she/he also concludes with this:

But if you are going to make it your job to “debunk” the lifelong habit he’s had of being “touchy-feely” then good luck, you’re going to be pretty damn busy trying to spit into the wind that’s coming your way.
