Bernie Sanders Drops 7 Points In 2 Weeks With Early State Voters

Support for Sanders has fallen seven points among Democratic primary voters in Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire or South Carolina since our last survey conducted before the Democratic presidential debate on Dec. 19, as front-runner and former Vice President Joe Biden opens up a 16-point gap over the Vermont senator with those early-state voters.

– At a respective 32% and 21% in this latest tracking poll, the standings of Biden and Sanders are essentially unchanged among Democratic primary voters nationwide since early February.

– Buttigieg has risen from virtual obscurity in February to sit at 8% nationally, and while Warren has seen her support fall in recent months, her five-point increase since February places her as a top candidate.....

The negative view is that Sen. Sanders has a high floor for his support, but he also appears to have firm ceiling on how high he can go. Pete Buttigieg has taken away voters who might be looking for a non-Biden option, and Elizabeth Warren has taken voters on the left who in 2016 went to Sanders by default. Buttigieg Warren and are equally well funded and they will be in the primary for the long term. If Sanders doesn’t win early, there is a chance that he doesn’t win at all.

i loved hillary always, but i had grave misgivings of her run because i was very aware of the weight of that baggage. built of lies as it was, it was clearly heavy.
and imho, he has added a steamer trunk labeled 'from russia w love'.

How ignorant and Social Media reliant are Americans? It wasn't her fault totally to lose in a fight with The Don's Russians, Comey's clumsily timed investigations and a misinformed populace (and still win the popular vote).

Demonizing, lies, swift boating. Limbaugh's freak show talk alone did damage as "Hitlery" was portrayed to the impoverished brains of his typical male, white older listeners and that became the reality. D-bag Trump could shoot someone. While, Hillary was one of the most accomplished, qualified Presidential Candidates ever. But as a women and endlessly attacked by Russians, Comey, billionaire media, it was tough to overcome without some heroics which few could muster.

Sanders got 40% of Democratic Primary vote in '16, he's running half that this time. Even if he got 100% of Warren's support, he'd still be behind his '16 vote total. Thehill.com

It’s well known that Sanders base is white people. Specifically young white liberals. If he loses in these states with loads of them, how can he stay competitive? Contrast that with people like Biden and Warren, and things will be looking bad for Bernard. Not that I’ve a problem with that. I don’t care for people who use our party when convenient to them and trash life long Democrats at every opportunity. Bernard, and that wretched ‘present’ Tulsi Gabbard, don’t deserve the nomination.

Very few people would argue that Booker is unappealing to Black voters. And Harris couldn't even get enough Black support to stay in the race.

The news here remains that Blacks are still solidly behind Biden for now. Sander is in third place among Black voters and in second place among Hispanics. In 2008 Obama was trailing Clinton among Black voters until he beat her in Iowa. Black voters, understandably, want a winner. Right now they are sticking with Biden but that could possibly change
