break my heart. She was planning to hit the ground running big time. With another 8 years of liberal government, building on Obama's tough start but now with control of the senate and far better position in the house at worst, we should have had the nation feeling much more secure and prosperous.

And not least, today's very dangerous populism and extremism, left and right, would be asphyxiated for lack of the fear and resentment that feed them.

Biden was actually VP when the ACA was passed, saying himself at the signing "this is a big fucking deal." CHIP was a good step in the right direction but ACA affected a lot more people and as an actual elected member of the administration Biden has a much clearer claim on his role in making it happen. As the linked OP itself says, while Hillary does deserve a lot of credit for making CHIP happen, it wasn't entirely accurate for her to take all the credit for herself.

I notice you have Biden as your candidate of choice in the primary. Do you seriously think CHIP was more important than the ACA? Or that HRC's credited but unofficial role in getting CHIP compares to Biden's official role as VP in getting the ACA passed? I'm not sure what you are getting at and it doesn't really make any sense.

...where is your argument that "none of our candidates has saved as many lives as HRC?" It seems like you are drawing that very narrowly indeed, and it's not clear why. HRC isn't even a candidate now, so what exactly are you trying to accomplish with this argument? I proudly voted for her in the GE in 2016 and would again except that she's not running. Your own candidate of choice is the very argument against what you seem to be arguing here, and again I have to wonder why.

You insist on cutting in HRC, who was not an elected official in any capacity despite her positive influence, and cutting out Biden who was Obama's actual VP, an elected position with actual powers. Look I like Hillary myself for a lot of reason but this simply does not make any sense. You have the very candidate who did what you say none of the current candidates did as your primary avatar. Do you know ANYTHING about these people?

I am surprised you would downplay one of Hillary Clinton's achievements...well up is down on this site at the moment. CHIP has saved millions of kids's lives including my nephew in Georgia's life...as you may remember Medicaid was never expanded in this state and others...so CHIP is all the kids have. It was and is a great accomplishment.

Both Clinton and Obama were sneered at as 'moderate and establishment',one of our current candidates wanted to primary Obama in 12 in fact. But both accomplished something CHIP and the ACA...what have those who sneer at moderates ever accomplished other than to lose winnable elections? Nothing ...the big "0". And Warren was still a Republican at the time CHIP passed by the way by her own words.

"Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) told George Stephanopoulos Sunday that she left the Republican Party in the mid-90s because it was tilting the playing field in favor of Wall Street."
