but what I saw seemed like Klobuchar was doing the best. of course I would take any and all of them in a second over the asshole. and honestly I would take any of them anyway, we have good strong candidates in general.

Amy did a great job, best debate yet for her in my opinion. Joe held his own, but Amy was better.

7. Surprisingly, Biden, followed by Klobuchar

Why Biden? He was ahead and he had no stumbles and several good answers. His ability to not take the bait in response to Obama's comment was good, but his answer on Afghanistan and his ending statement were very good and matched what he said.

Amy's best statement was that you build a bridge not blow it up when backing Biden's and her medical plan. She was better than in past debates, but while she won most of her fights with Pete, he hit back strong on one.

Warren was very good, but I think the fact checks that she did indeed take big donations to her Senate campaign, hurts that she hit Pete and others on doing the same thing.

Bernie was terrible when asked what he would do if he could not get MFA. His answer was he would get MFA.

This was mayor Pete's worst debate,

Yang and Steger are terrible.

9. Bernie...

...beyond a shadow of a doubt...

...he had the spark, vision and tenacity on high tonight...people saw our trump-beater in progress and the next Democratic President of the United States...

...I thought the debate tonight was going to anti-climactic, being over shadowed by the specter of yesterday's historic impeachment vote...but I was pleasantly surprised...

...by the end of the debate, everyone here watching was into the full weight of the moment, realizing what we were watching was our only hope to tackle trump before he totally destroys our nation with four more years...

...Bernie stood head and shoulders above his fellow candidates demonstrating the most comprehensive agenda to restructure America and to return it and control to the American people...

...he identified the problems, he explained the solutions and how we're going to achieve the results...

...thank heaven for Bernie...

14. My analysis

Dec 2019

Biden: I agreed that this was his best debate yet. I do not see eye to eye on many issues, but there were no gaffes that I remember, and he seemed more focused

Warren: Other than being taken aback by Buttigieg a bit, I thought she was fine. She is a favorite of mine.

Sanders: best on the issues IMO, and he was more persuasive than ever in defending them. He was my favorite of the night.

Buttigieg: I agree with Warren on money in politics, but he seemed prepared tonight. He was more likable than before.

Yang: I am glad he has hung in there. Solid debate for him.

Klobuchar: again not great on the issues, but she was well spoken and personable. She does give the impression she could stand up to Trump.

Steyer: did not talk a lot but made a good point about being a force for the impeachment movement

I do not think anyone had a weak debate.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

I think it's better to look at it from a standpoint of who came out of it having accomplished what they wanted/needed to and didn't take any scars.

Biden needed to look like the most presidential candidate on the stage and he did that. He also took very little fire and had no trouble swatting away what did come. Plus, he got Bernie to come right out and say he would raise everyones taxes. Bernie tried to add on that it would be offset, but nobody wins a race by promising to universally raise taxes.

Klobuchar needed to stay in the race and make some kind of move. She clearly did that and she'll get a bump for it, if it lasts will be the next question.

Pete spent most of the night defending himself and I'm not sure he was able to really get his message out with all of the incoming. #Winecave is trending on Twitter right now, which probably isn't great for him. He did get Warren back on that exchange, but Pete needs that young educated white vote, and that's the group that is pushing the hashtag right now.

Warren got her big shot in on Pete, who I taking a lot of the support that she's lost. I think she sees him as her biggest problem, but he isn't. He's just catching the support that she is shedding from being seen as a less than genuine candidate. She had all of the trouble with her M4A plan and then did a 180 turn on it, that hurt her. Tonight he managed to point out that she has raised money the same way that she is attacking him for. It plays into the narrative and hurt her.

Sanders, like I mentioned before, told everyone in the country that he wants to raise their taxes. That's a loser. He also had some ban answers on things that people are already see him as suspect on....gender issues for instance. Again, playing into the negative narrative.

Yang had a pretty good night and he got his message out there. But, it just seems like he doesn't have the gravitas to expand his base beyond the people who have always been with him. I think everyone likes him and largely agrees with what he says, but not a lot of people are willing to put him up against Trump.

Steyer is similar in that he had a pretty fair night. However, there just isn't a lane for this guy this cycle.

Joe Biden

16. Bernie had his worst debate so far.

People selecting him in this poll are ranking it based on which candidate they like, and not which candidate did the best tonight.

My candidate is Amy Klobuchar. But even I can tell that Biden was the winner tonight.

And Bernie was really only ahead of Steyer. It was Bernie worst debate yet, and not close.
