Harvard Grad
Oxford Rhodes Scholar
Speaks 7 languages
Plays Piano at Concert level
Mayor of Sizable City at 30 yo

The 'smarts' practically ooze out of the guy, and he's got the quick mental acuity like ... well ... Bill & Obama, frankly.

I'm not saying we don't have basically ALL SMART candidates, or that he's necessarily 'the best candidate'.

But if you judge on that particular quality, he seems to be the one candidate we have that has like a freakish level of intellect.

Doesn't mean he can win though, inherently. As Reagan, Bush II and Trump have proven, the smartest guy doesn't always win.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Warren introduced some specific policy programs, yet it's a sort of "academic privilege" given to Buttigieg.

Along with the rest of her accomplishments, I'd hail her as someone who appears freakishly smart, as opposed to extremely smart.

Esp. if she was under 40 and had already learned that much.

Stop with the 'double-standard' stuff. There's 'super-smart', and then there's like 'freaky smart'.

- Naval Intelligence Officer
- worked as a consultant at McKinsey and Company from 2007 through 2010 - work in math and data that carried over to developing data to manage South Bend - not straightforward stuff
- his Jan '19 book announcement of "Shortest Way Home: One Mayor’s Challenge and a Model for America’s Future,” came out in February and was on the top 10 NY Times bestseller hardcover list in a few days. I've watched a couple of his book meetings and read 86 reviews, all good - he loves literature and is a good writer

the above also show he's been using his brains

Also notable in terms of political experience, aside from his unsuccessful 2010 run for Indiana Treasurer and two successful campaigns for mayor (that he raised money for):
- did a summer internship with Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass.,
- investigative intern at WMAQ-TV, Chicago's NBC news affiliate
- worked the campaign trail for Democrat John Kerry’s 2004 presidential run,
- conference director for former U.S. Secretary of Defense William Cohen's international strategic consulting firm, The Cohen Group
- door-knocked for Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign and
- research director for Democrat Jill Long Thompson's gubernatorial campaign in 2010
- In Nov 2016, Obama named Buttigieg along with Kamala Harris, Tim Kaine & Michael Bennett as up and coming leaders for the Democratic party
https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2016/11/28/obama-reckons-with-a-trump-presidency
- ran for DNC Chair raising over $500,000 in the first half of 2017
- launched a “hybrid” super PAC called Hitting Home, which he used to spread $37,000 among dozens of Democrats running for U.S. Congress in conservative districts. Overall, Buttigieg’s PAC raised about $400,000 in a year and a half, though more than a third of that amount came from his Pete for DNC committee.

There's a lot more to this man than just a couple of runs for mayor starting at age 29. He's jammed a lot of experience into his first 37 years.

Bright and decent down to every cell in her body. I liked her CNN town hall recently.

You don't get to be a Harvard law professor and go on to win awards twice there for being an excellent professor, write eight books, have TIME magazine name her one of the 100 most influential people in the world three times and have President Obama pick her as Special Advisor for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and Chair of the Congressional Oversight Panel while being a dummy at the same time.
