Trump says Beto would be 'dream' 2020 rival

President Donald Trump said Friday it appears the media has chosen Beto O’Rourke as the favorite for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020 and that he views the former El Paso congressman as a “dream” opponent.

“So who do you want to go up against in 2020?” Fox Business News host Maria Bartiromo asked Trump in a 20-minute interview broadcast Friday morning.

“So you have Beto. And Beto comes out and he says, `Let’s take down the wall,’” Trump said. “If you ever took down the wall, this country would be overrun.”

“You want to run against Beto?” Baritromo asked.

“I wouldn’t mind. I mean, I’d love to have Biden. I’d love to have Bernie, I’d love to have Beto. I mean, Beto seems to be the one the press has chosen. The press seems to have chosen Beto,” Trump said. “And when I watch Beto, I say we could dream about that.”

When Trump makes a statement like that, it's almost always just the opposite. Especially when he's talking politics.

trump is worried about three possible Democratic nominees https://politicalwire.com/2019/03/24/the-democrats-trump-fears-most/

“President Trump has publicly boasted that he could beat any of his 2020 Democratic challengers. But privately, several members of the Trump campaign see a few who could pose a threat to his re-election, and are in the early stages of building out their strategy for attack,” Axios reports.

“The three candidates that seem to concern the Trump campaign most are Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and Beto O’Rourke. That’s in no particular order, and you’ll get a different answer depending on who you talk to.”
