Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumAre Bernie and Warren the only candidates trying to reverse the Reagan tax cuts?
Through the proposal of taxing the ultra rich? Those tax cuts did a number on our society and the acceptance of supply side economics has been a poison. Bernie or Warren are the antidote.

(25,430 posts)The tax code has been adjusted several times since Reagan was in office, so I doubt there's much talk from any of our candidates, including Warren and Sanders, about reversing any specific tax cuts from the Reagan era. Those cuts have been superseded any number of times since then.
In a more general sense, I think most, if not all, of our candidates are focused on tax reform that shifts the tax burden from the lower and middle classes upward, where it belongs, reversing the general GOP attitude toward taxes that they've implemented since Reagan.

I think they are the closest to bringing us back in the general sense to the pre 80s tax rates for highest earners and moving away more quickly from the supply side mindset.
