Democratic Primaries

said Brett Stephens on KC/DC, I think, reminding us that this was what Bush in 2000 ran on (yes, well...)
And suggested that this is what we should run. Of course we know this. I think that even Trump supporters do not associate him with any form of dignity.
And while I don't think that Trump should be a main point in the primaries, but hovering in the background, mentioning dignity will send a message. Certainly should, especially to the self described conservatives..

Michelle Obama had causes she was very active with from eating healthy, promoting educational opportunities for girls all over this country and world, to assisting Military families all while raising 2 girls.
What has Melania Trump done other than utter "Be Best"? Her designer fashions and over the top Christmas decorations do not count.

(6,539 posts)This idea sticks in my mind from Reagan's run for president in 1980. It was wrong of him to say it since Carter was an honest man form Plains, Georgia. Carter walked in his inauguration parade to show that he was a simple honest person unlike the crooked Nixon and the man who pardoned him, Ford. In this context, I see the phrase as very ironic. Obviously, dignity left the building when Trump walked in. Restore dignity to the White House is an excellent and essential phrase to use against this "laughing stock."

I remember the glory days of Mike Wallace in "60 Minutes." He would expose a politician (usually a Southern, sorry), and the constituents would just stand by him.
