Trying to keep everyone happy usually results in no one being happy

stabilizing Warren's campaign and the growing awareness that Medicare for All is a flat-out loser for 2020. The forward momentum that Warren's campaign was counting on stopped dead in the water once the details on M4A funding (a reverse-engineered project) was released, the details of which were critiqued 'not realistic.'

Warren's campaign had the opportunity to pivot but refused to take that opportunity for whatever reason. The followup today merely looks like a way to wiggle out of what's already been proposed, an attempt to claim both recommendations--the public option and Medicare 4 All. While all our candidates have signaled that M4A as the ultimate goal, none (other than perhaps Harris) has offered a more tortured route.

Btw, does anyone really believe a M4A program can be launched successfully, effectively in three years?

I certainly don't.

Warren should have gone with the pivot when she had the opening.

Don't be surprised if Warren responds equally strongly later on in the campaign Eg. 'Whose Bankruptcy Act there millions of Americans out of the homes'.
