Jared Bernstein & Austan Goolsbee back up Biden's role in Dodd-Frank/CFPB:

Since this came up in last night's debate, I think these tweets from people who were there are important:

Bernstein, for the record:

Ftr: I was there: Biden fought hard to get votes for Dodd/Frank & to make sure Sen Warren’s idea for a CFPB came to fruition.

Goolsbee:

I was there, too. Biden was a major advocate for CFPB and for the view that Dodd-Frank needed to be about everyday folks and their issues first and systemic risk blah blah blah after that.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

excellently! But.. she couldn't even acknowledge that..

He never gets fair credit for the work he did with the stimulus bill. The funds were equitably distributed between red and blue states. He worked with both sides. In the polarized world of today, you practically have to hide bipartisanship.

And, this is a super important reason to vote Joe Biden!

Joe Biden is a Uniter.. he's excellent at building coalitions.. imperative for the 2020 GE!

I ran across it searching for more info on Twitter about how Biden was able to get the stimulus bill through the Senate by convincing three Republicans to vote for it.

countering what Biden had said about what he's done, could have easily been misread as implying that he opposed it. She didn't even clarify that he supported it, let alone admit he'd worked to get the bill passed.

Which makes Warren's reaction even more petty and baseless in substance. I think we had a glimpse into Elizabeth Warren's personality last night--she does not take criticism well and reacts with an unnecessary caustic edge. That's not a good trait for a prospective POTUS who needs people in the room to tell you when you're off base or haven't considered a particular angle. It too frequently is a trait of those who insist on absolute conformance and/or are unyielding to other points of view. Revealing!

After a man, positioning himself as superior then raising his voice and aggressively pointing at me - like he did to her - there's no way I'd personally thank him at that point.

She dismissed his behavior didn't attack, then said she was grateful to Obama, and thanked everyone who helped along the way, which included Joe.

I really don't see why it's necessary to defend Joe Biden here.
