But it should do very good things for Biden's campaign. Biden is speaking now to a press scrum in Columbus, Ohio. He's sharp and confident, on point. Yeah, he got a boost from last night.

A Biden/Klobuchar ticket would be hard for Trump to beat. They are going to have a lot of appeal in the swing states.

The debate was on the heels of her Bill Maher appearance where she was sharp and on point. Funny, too, something I didn't expect. Interesting match and would give Biden an additional boost in the rounding up those midwestern states.

From the link:

Beto O’Rourke- The problem for former Rep. O’Rourke was that the stage was too crowded, and he had a difficult time standing out. O’Rourke did make an interesting point about Elizabeth Warren wanting to pit people against each other, but the O’Rourke, who shined in the Texas Senate race, has struggled to distinguish himself on the national stage.

===

And I was worried that he was crowding out 5'1" (I think) Klobuchar standing next to him

In "Losers" section (their word, not mine) this was interesting...

Bernie Sanders- Sen. Sanders is the candidate who has been hurt the most by the difference between the 2016 and 2020 Democratic primaries. Sanders is boxed in. He has an Elizabeth Warren problem that he appears not to know what to do about. Sanders gets points for honestly telling everyone that taxes will go up under his Medicare For All plan. Sanders has a strong donor base, and he is polling well in Iowa and Nevada. A debate stage with fewer candidates would help him, but Sanders needs to freshen up his message because too much of it sounds like 2016, and voters had already seen that movie four years ago.
Yep, he does. It's old and tiresome. Been there, done that, tired of it already.

In the "Winners" section, there was this:

Pete Buttigieg- Buttigieg had his strongest debate showing on numerous issues. He shined when he talked about foreign policy. He more than held his own with Sen. Warren when talking about Medicare for All. It was a good debate for the moderates, and if this is one candidate who is ready to step into the top three should Sanders, Warren, or Biden slide, it is Mayor Pete Buttigieg.
He really does look sharp, doesn't he? He's fit, energetic, bright eyed, nice posture, stands upright, wears clothes that fit nicely, he's a clean-cut and well-groomed young man that any parent would be proud to call their own. I know he certainly impresses me. I think he's got the temperament and demeanor of someone who could someday lead our nation.

I don't think this is his year to become our party's nominee. But I certainly do think he has a good shot at the VP slot, or somewhere in the cabinet.

Then why would he change his message?
I guess that all depends on what he hopes to accomplish. Does he have a binary world-view (good/bad, black/white) where no compromise is possible, or where compromise and finding common ground is a sign of weakness? Does he still believe that no-loaf (and the pride associated with never changing) is better than giving-way to opposing opinions and coming home with half-a-loaf?

All I'm saying is that it's not always a bad thing for a candidate to change their message. And that's especially true if the "message" is being rejected by the voters, and if the candidate is being thoroughly and soundly rejected by AA and POC voters and communities.

1). Joe Biden- There was a question as to whether Trump’s Ukraine conspiracies would help or hurt Biden. The answer is that Biden is using Trump’s attacks to sell himself as the candidate that Trump is afraid of. Biden hasn’t been hurt in this primary by Trump’s Ukraine conspiracies. The former vice president also benefitted from the heavy focus from other candidates on Elizabeth Warren. Biden did nothing to hurt his status as one of the two candidates at the top of the field.

Happy I found this on the 2nd page! Mahalo, Kasper!
