Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumI'm switching from Mayor Pete to...
Warren.
I love Mayor Pete. I hope he continues to pursue a federal position. I could see him as VP as I could many other candidates.
But Warren is tireless.
She is a campaigner.
A FIGHTER.
And she's smart.
With the right ideas.
And I think Trump will have a hard time running against her as much as he would Mayor Pete and many others.

(7 posts)I appreciate Liz, but she needs to actually point out middle class taxes will slightly increase, but will be offset by lack of premiums, co-pays, and crazy prescription prices. She has candor on every other issue, but she is waffling on this-just review this week's Colbert appearance.
I also have not heard her say how companies will be voluntarily passing along the compensation that was a company-sponsored health plan, to the employee. Those on those plans-check your W2 to see the value of your health plan, that is what the company is paying. If the company does not pass those funds onto to the employee, what will the recourse of the employee be?
Nonetheless, I will be campaigning and voting Blue, no matter who.

(2,275 posts)She is not falling into the Republican sound byte trap where they get to shout "tax and spend Democrats" to the rooftops.
She is also correct to talk about total expenses which is the point.

(2,275 posts)with crappy insurance. I just spoke with a nurse at my local clinic who was outraged by having a $6,000 medical bill DESPITE her so-called insurance.
And Warren explains this beautifully by pointing out that a system where the insurance companies are for-profit has no incentive to give anyone coverage. They are motivated to take it away anywhere they possibly can.

(53,410 posts)Sitting in the Oval Office shaking hands with smiling International world leaders, and at the G19 surrounded by smiling World Leaders, being welcomed in other countries with cheering crowds or handing out medals to great Americans.
She will be another President with a plethora of photos interacting with children in crowds where parents are proud to being their children.
Shell be the school marm, the matriarch in every family, the favorite aunt and the beloved mother figure of this country. The strong woman able to easily school anyone who dares to be wrong about something important. Shell be able to cut someone down to size with few words and a gentle voice. And her enthusiastic personality will never waver as she spreads it to others.
Yeah. I see her in that role much easier than the others.

(55 posts)-you would abandon a candidate you believe in, who has clear honest ideas for how to get our country back on track?
Buttigieg is a brilliant calm leader. He has that Obama Factor. Hes always in control.
My problem with Warren is that she lets Trump get to her. He called her Pocahontas and she ran out to get a DNA test. He gets under her skin. Hes looking forward to mocking her and shell be yelling back. We dont need that. Thats how Trump wins.
We need the coolest guy in the room who never sweats when Trump starts spouting his BS. Who says, in essence, I dont even pay attention to Trump because the American people need me to focus on how I can serve their needs best.
THAT is how to beat Trump!

(6,137 posts)I want to see Pete getting closer to frontrunners. Warren is the one I trust 100%. We need her either as president or VP. She is the smartest one running, head and shoulders above Biden. But the most important question is who is likely to win in the general. I think we wont the answer to it for months. Warrens energy is unmatched. I want to see her focusing on purple states more. Why rally in NYC? Why not Miami, Phoenix, Columbus, Detroit, Philadelphia, etc.? If she wants to win the nomination, she needs to do only one thing: convince primary voters that she is most likely to beat trump. The only way to do it is to spend most of your time, energy and money in swing states. Its good to see that Petes votes are going to Warren. I think the same will happen with Kamala and Sanders votes. It is essentially a two way race between Biden and Warren. And if the above three drop out, w/o question theyll endorse Warren.

(12,163 posts)I started as a Buttigieg supporter, too, but switched to Warren after learning more about her and seeing how she connects with people.
Thats not to say Buttigieg doesnt connect. He certainly does. But Warren has proven herself to be a tireless campaigner with the x-factor that defies explanation.
I have no doubt that Mayor Pete will be president one day, though.
