Sanders campaign cracks down on leaks

(The article was co-written by this DU poster's daughter)

The Bernie Sanders campaign is clamping down on leaks.

In the midst of a staff shakeup in New Hampshire and Iowa, Sanders’ aides are sending emails and making calls to allies to tell them not to speak with the media.
After news broke of the campaign’s decision to reassign the state director and part ways with a senior adviser in the first-in-the-nation primary state, a Sanders aide emailed members of its steering committee in New Hampshire and asked them to not discuss the moves with reporters.

Will Bateson, Sanders’ political director in New Hampshire, wrote in the message that “we have heard from many of you, and seen in this morning's news stories, that the press is very interested to speak with you.” Members of the steering committee had told POLITICO and other outlets that they were concerned about how the campaign was being run in the state.

While there isn't anything illegal about withholding information of this nature within a political campaign, it isn't desirable in government.

raucous rallies. I don't watch cable news all day like some, but as far as I can tell, he's no longer a fixture. There just doesn't seem to be the same interest in him this time around. I could be wrong.

the media is not at all friendly to the policies (many that will affect their bottom line) put forth by Bernie Sanders. They are the mouthpieces of the ruling class and have a vested interest in the status quo. Not unlike the many conservatives and economic right-wingers who inhabit the big tent of the Democratic Party. Fighting to the death to protect their perks and portfolios while claiming to be fighting for "the people."

Otherwise, it's just another in a long line of allegations about how oppressed BS is, and how unfair the world is to him.

As it stands now, your entire sentiment is predicated on the fallacy, post hoc ergo prompter hoc.

Fifty percent of the people in this country exist on less than twenty five grand a year and have no voice in the political arena or in the media. That's a fact. Anyone even slightly giving a serious voice to that strata, like Sanders is doing, is quickly subjected to marginalization by any means necessary.
