Doncha know that Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore the first target of the moronic third party voter "the lesser of two evils is still evil" narrative that Susan is so good at pushing down people's throats.

Now we can all thank Susan for Trump, his policies, and the courts he saddled us with for a generation.

Susan, her children, and her grandchildren will be just fine, thank-you-very-much. She's a multi-millionaire ping pong queen who owns several homes in NYC.

She'll do it again at the drop of a hat. Susan is a revolutionary! She's willing to sacrifice everybody's well being because she knows she and her family are safe. She knows what we all need: the revolution! And ping pong parlors!

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

I care about solid support, common sense, mass appeal, visceral connection with voters, downward flow of capital, universal health coverage, and a systems perspective. Any candidate who fits that profile has my vote. Since the field this time around is rich with talent, I don't think I'll have a problem. At a minimum, Trumpy is out and the GOP is out. If, for example, this is an exercise not real, Pete Buttigieg campaign refused to concede after it was clear they were losing, and they used surrogates to attack our nominee or other candidates, we would call Pete out and pressure him to stop (he would never do this)

But, if we cant TALK about it how can we pressure him?

And if he wins in 2020, he will bring with him a whole slew of Democrats. Sarandon is helping the drive to vote for one of our candidates, (the one closest to your own candidate's positions btw).

How about we cross whatever bridge develops later. For now, how about we swallow our pride and accept Susan as a liberal, progressive, life long fighter for human rights, and women's issues, who wants to help one of our candidates? I know that is a hell of a lot to ask for some in here.

I'm sure her one vote for a third party who got 1% of the overall vote was the tipping point.....and Trump has personally thanked her.

Interesting comment from someone that has had a BS EW pic in their sig line for years now....you have just changed the date. You have stated here many times that you don't care if it is BS/EW or EW/BS. You say Welcome to the Revolution!!! Yet here you find a take down of one of your preferred candidates hilarious, by Sarandon, that in fact voted Stein.

I am not understanding this at all.

I have a lot of respect for individuals like Elizabeth Warren who have demonstrated the capacity for intellectual growth and learning in a hyper-partisan environment. Progressives need to increase their numbers, to no small extent by making a case for conservatives to re-consider their past allegiance. Warren was able to make that connection, and for that she deserves much credit and not admonition.

This ain’t 2016 where the narrative was “she can’t win without us”.

this is going into 2020, and the new narrative is he can’t win without us devoted Democratic Party members, and right now.. he’s losing more than a few of us.

These surrogate attacks and whining about unfair treatment? Yeah, it’s pushing a whole new anyone BUT Bernie or Bust.

You’re 100% correct that we do need all hands on deck, and shit like this? Going to suppress his turnout if he doesn’t get his supporters in line. Warren is polling a hell of a lot better than he is. Just you think that all those who desperately want that glass ceiling to finally break are going to get behind him if he does pull ahead by using these particular tactics.

Own it at least.
We have a big tent. There are more conservative Democrats, and more left leaning Democrats, and many in between. Based on Joe's positions on the more progressive platforms, I don't know how one cannot say he is of the conservative bent.

Jeez, conservatism isn't a bad thing, for some issues. Managing the budget, etc... Its all a balance. But Joe would even be regarded farther to the right of many Conservative party leaders in other countries that support single payer health care, as one example.

Republicans are not conservatives. Not any more. There is no shame in that term. Now I''m not one, and think progressive, bottom - up solutions will boost the country over top - down solutions. But I respect those with more conservative views. Not bat shit looney lie based fascist views like the modern day Republican has. There is a difference.

Hillary. It is the same purist bullshit, and their same ole Johnny one tune

This time it is different. People are not being duped by the lies, distortions, and misrepresentations, as evidenced that Sanders not moving beyond his base, and Warren’s momentum demonstrates that best of all

The only thing they have is name calling with falsehood labels, “Biden is a conservative”, facts or the whole picture doesn’t matter in their small minds

It is all or nothing as far as they are concerned

Let them do their ranting and raving, and their double speak about identity politics, when they are the poster child for identity politics

Gee, it must really piss the hell out of them that they don’t have that much support from the minority communities that the other leading Democratic candidates have

Don’t be surprised when they start going after them like they did in the past. John Lewis comes to mind

This’s quite revealing

Tue Aug 20, 2019, 05:37 PM
Aug 2019

You only redefine one of my posts on here. Maybe a more apt analogy would be; Making a mountain out of a mole hill.

We have so much influence from the extreme right pushing the countries policies that way. Lord help us if there comes from the extreme left anyone like Sarandon pushing the conversation back the other way. One doesn't have to share all of her concerns (although I'd bet you wouldn't disagree with most of what Sarandon wants) just appreciate, in a democracy, that she helps to balance a tiny bit the narrative our direction, as far as policies. That old "country over party" aspect.

Its not as if Sanders is obtuse about his reaching out to a wider audience. I have no idea why so many Independents last election were torn over the choice of Sanders or Trump. (And when the D nomination went to Hillary it made their choice easier) As Trump and Sanders are polar opposites in policy. BUT, isn't that what we want? A candidate that will take votes away from Trump? Even those that are politically confused. A vote is a vote.

Sanders is about Medicare for All, and free tuition, and his other progressive platform. And having that kind of mandate. He goes on Fox News, he goes on Joe Rogan, and welcomes any supporter that supports the progressive vision he wants to see come about for America. No matter if some think they are too right wing, or some think they are too left wing.

Its not only smart, and the furthest thing from the "purists" that think they can win by thumbing their noses at anyone not in their self defined circle.

I’ve listened to Bernie each Friday on Brunch with Bernie with Thom Hartmann. That was before he became a senator in 2006. I liked what he said but thought...socialist?

Since then I accepted socialism more because I understand it more. It’s better than Trump and a 2.5 trillion tax break to the richest people.

But there is somewhere in the middle. But if Bernie accepts Susan Sarandon as a spokesperson, I gotta problem. She is one great reason we have Trump. You cannot do that.

Elizabeth Warren might be too much left for some here, but the left has usually been correct. I hope you like her.

People like Susan missed the constant "but her emails" (64% negative media coverage) because she's in a TYT/David Pakman/Common Dreams/Michael Moore/Glenn Greenwald/all the podcasts by self-righteous young men bitterly complaining about the Democratic Party bubble.

Republicans/Russia are successfully putting more and more Americans is alternate reality bubbles. Yesterday I was searching for something and came across a video of a young woman talking about how evil Hillary is. In discussions about Sarandon there are always plenty of people saying, Oh, nobody cares what she says, but impressionable young people ARE being influenced by people who seem to be progressive and seem to be be genuine, but their opinions aren't based on facts. Hard enough to find what the facts are because the MSM is so terrible. Scaring the hell out of young people and teaching them to hate Democrats is just as bad as Fox News scaring the hell out of people and brainwashing them to hate Democrats.

She can't admit she was wrong to help elect Republicans because she doesn't think it matters.

In all these years of seeing Republicans become an increasing danger to democracy and its people and hearing Sanders claim Democrats are mostly just the same, she's never said, "What?," and turned away. She agrees. At the SheThePeople conference with his "Anyway, Democrats do the same thing," the same thing we do is packing courts with vicious RW racists who misuse their power to persecute back people.

Doesn't matter that it might not be strictly true. The deeper truth is that there's not enough distance between me and my blood-red neighbors to spit between. She's effectively a self-made nut according to my thinking, but not hers. And I don't expect her to ever learn to respect truth or that other points of view can have validity. Not without intense professional counseling, anyway.
